its a problem that ive had on my 06. from what i know it is a multi year problem. i took it to the dealer and there was a TSB on the issue. I think they just put a few washers in and it was fixed.

yes. my g35 has the same issue. it's difficult to understand how a high end luxury sports car would not have a switch to control the light in the glovebox. there are vehicles from the 60's that have a switch for this, from the manufactor.this is another short coming from nissan.my fix is going to be wiring in a normally closed push button switch mounted to the g/b so when the door is closed, it interupts the voltage to the light and will operate only when the g/b door is opened(and when the headlamps are activated)

if i remember right, since i have taken this off close to 1000 times, there is a little push button switch which sounds like is not being pushed in all the way when you close up the glove box.

its actually really simple to dissemble, like 5 min tops, and you could put some washers (as mentioned above) behind the switch to push it out further and turn off the light when you close it.

Hello phil4watching

I just checked my G and there is no light switch for the glove compartment.I only see three small rubber tits across the top to absorb the closing force of the glove compartment. The light goes on when the headlights are on and goes off when the headlights are turned off. Until I read this post I never noticed. Perhaps it is so dark at night in Georgia that you noticed? We have so many people & lights up here I never noticed it. In order for me to even see the light I have to crouch down & look at a certain angle.I wonder if there was a switch on the earlier G's and perhaps Infiniti just eliminated it to save a few dollars?
