Is your tongue green yet?

Seriously though....I came back from up North after labor day weekend and felt awful one morning. It came on so fast and I went to the doc and was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. The good news was I would only have a hacking cough for up to 6 weeks...only 3 to go. But hey, my abs look great from all of the coughing.

I got bit by a spider the other night, my leg got really swollen and painfull all day yesterday, then I got sick last night. Now the swelling is down for the most part, but my leg is all bruised and hurts really bad still. Bleh. That, and my back and neck hurt every day of my life.

I have a pinched nerve or something in my back, so when I turn my head far to the left it hurts. so like, when I turn left to look through the driver's quarter window it hurts.

yes I do...

I'm too damn lethargic right now...having a job has helped though, I'm actually having to do something other then sleep...

when my back hurts, I find moving it around will actually start to help it...this doesn't always work though, I wouldn't advise moving in a case of a slipped disk or a pinched nerve....

chances are it's light strains though...ever have back problems before or sculiosis? (I think I speeled that right...it's a deformity of the spine causing it to bend unnaturally and hinder proper weight distribution and what not...)

I agree with Vicki though, exercise always helps, just make sure you're not gonna do anything to cause further injury.

think I"m gonna join a gym soon and try to get in a shirt size that doesn't have an x or two in it...

Just in general to everyone. Exercise strengthens your heart and body. I work out all the time and I'm never depressed or in pain.

not really vicki. Most of depression has to do with mind. Or could be low emune system and that has nothing to do with working out in the dungeon

I feel hardly any pain ever. I also never get sick. I eat like crap and don't excercise a lot. It's not diet and excercise; its mind over matter. If you let yourself beleive you are more susceptible to pain or sickness, you will be. But if you learn to ignore pain and beleive you are not going to be sick all the time, you won't be. Nothing supernatural or unusual, just the power of the mind over the body, which makes perfect sense since it controls all the functions of the body.

Exactly, mind over matter, that's why I pretty much never get sick. If I DO get sick, I just go on with life rather than crying about it and staying home for days in bed. The only thing I can't defeat is hunger (and that spider bite I got the other day).

I'll try not to get to technical, but there is a direct relation of serotonin (5HT) levels in the brain and the amount of regular exercise you get. Serotonin plays a big role in depression which can be tied in to how you feel physically, anxiety level, quality of sleep, etc.

Basically just get outside and get the blood moving. I'm stuck at work, what's your excuse?

yeah, but excercise has a direct effect on your mental state. It pumps blood, which gets you more energetic, it uplifts you, it can actually help against depression. Especially when the depression has a physical root (too skinny, fat etc.)

now that i think about it....i'm gonna go running

for the record, i think it's the seasons changing for many of us "northerners" and even some eastern southerners that's causing this depressed and injured time...i know i'm feelin pretty depressed lately
