I bought this from Marc at IAP (who I already called...hasn't gotten back to me yet) a couple months ago. Now I'm ready to start putting it together, and I put the turbo on which is a Garrett T3/T04E, and the turbine/exhaust tube is going to hit the MC lines. Like it's not even close, it has to move over at least 1.5" before it could be considered. This is with the 4-bolt turbine housing as well. The engine is KAE (sohc). Anyone else have a prob with their sohc IAP manifold?

Yeah, I had that same problem...you have to get a 5 bolt turbine housing. I dont know where you got the turbo from, but I had gotten mine from cheapturbo.com and I ended up just sending them back the 4 bolt housing with 60 bucks and getting a new 5 bolt housing. You need a housing that is less tangential (needs to be more on-center).

Well piss...Nathan do you have any pics of your setup or this housing I need? Yeah I got this turbo off of cheapturbo. So the 'on-center' 5 bolt housing will clear those lines then?

Yeah, it should...I have a DE mani, but I had the exact same issue, if you run a search in the ka-t forum you should see my thread *****ing about the same thing, complete with pictures ;) Check out the pictures, if yours looks similar to mine, it should fit fine when you swap housings. I'll try to get some new pictures of how it is after the new turbine housing, I'd say its about an inch of clearance now. Ken at cheapturbo will know exactly what you need, its a common problem :)

I went back and searched, but the pics wouldn't come up. On this 5-bolt housing.....it's not an internal wg housing is it?

Yeah red240, I was going to just try and put a 45 degree or whatever bend on the turbine pipe before the DP, but then I got to lookin/thinkin that it would still be too close to the MC plus it would hurt the exhaust flow. Yeah let me know when you get those pics up Nathan.

Damn, somehow a lot of pictures in my gallery have gone missing :( I'll have to ask the hitman about it. I cant find the pictures on my computer anymore either. This is quite frustrating, I'll ask my friend if HE still has the pictures since we used his camera.

I wouldn't swap housings. That's more of a hassle, and more expensive. Just get the downpipe re-welded, and use a 4-bolt flange..

It's $60 + old housing at cheapturbo. There is no DP on the car, the MC lines sit about 1.5" into where the DP would start if it were going straight back. Is there any other (shorter) brake booster I could use to put the MC back about that 1" or so? Confusion.....

Trust me curt...that thing wont fit without some serious issues. There is no other brake booster I know of except MAYBE an S14 one, its still easier to swap housings. The 5-bolt moves it over at least an inch and a half, so you should clear then. I also used a 2.5 inch first section for my downpipe then quickly jumped up to three inch after the first bend.
