Sorry to say this, but the new layout of the NICO forums is quite frustrating. I'm not sure what the intent of separating the engines from the cars was, but it's a pain to jump around between the forums even though you are posting for one type of car. I'm thinking it was to consolidate posts about motors, but we have to go back to the first page of the forums to get there. And consolidating creates another problem, many of the Nissan motors are used in a FWD and RWD configuration with several differences between each. I can live with this, but perhaps links to the motors can be put in each car forum in which the motors are widely used.

Have you ever tried CTRL + N

I find it more irritating that S13's and S14's don't have their own forums within "240SX and Silvia (200SX)".

Are you kidding me? They're on the front forum page. Go click on NICO Forums at the top and scroll down. They're all right there.

I agree...I dont really care for the new layout, but I'm sure I'll get used to it with time. I am a creature of habit and I hate change! :(

:( it is more frustrating for us, but those engines go in more cars than just the 240sx. they are trying to boost the other car sections on the forums, its understandable.

I hate this new layout with a passion. I came back to the site after a bit of away time and I was like what in the h*** happened. I feel like a nooB all over again. When did it change anyways? And I wonder if enough people complain if they will turn it back to the old way.

I can't get the page to come up under nicoclub.com either. I get this message from apache. But if I follow a link to a topic it goes through.

Maybe recreating a link at the old locations which will woosh you to the respective engine forums will work.

Changing it back altogether would be nearly impossible as we would have to seperate by "hand" which posts where orginally from which forum.

I really <do> hope we didn't make a mistake.

It seemed like a great idea to us at the time, having all the tech stuff next to each other also this way a guy with a type of engine in his car, wont miss out on the engine expertise of others (that have that engine in another car) .

Fred..:yesnod

Another aye for Fred's idea...as long as it looks similar I'll be happy, whether they are accessible from the main forums list or not.

I personally don't mind the crossing of information for engines in different configurations. It might actually be more beneficial since there would be a lot of commonalities. But we would have to become better at being more specific about the application when we post in the engine section. But I would like to see links to the engines available in the individual car sections. No need to put engines that weren't available in a particular car or that are not common swaps into a car into that car forum though.

And Fred, I think your intentions were good, and I wasn't trying to be negative, but I felt some feedback was necessary.

I think it helps because of the whole engine swaping thing, people swap KAs and SRs and CAs in the datsun 510s and stuff like that too.

I like the new layout :)
