welp, i went out this morning (afternoon, im a bum) and got in the car, only to realize my terrible autometer sport comp boost gauge was reading a billion pounds off. must have happened sometime last night, but i was drunk and doing donuts in a nearby parking lot so i wasnt paying any attention to it. anywho, i know you can turn the little screw at the bottom to re-calibrate it, but why bother? the thing should work all the time, not have to be pointed back to zero every other week. autometer can bite me, im gonna go buy some defi shizz.

and now that i think of it, my boost gauge is about 4 or 5 years old. its cool, i got it for free so its not really bothering me that its dead. just an excuse to go buy cool ones with teh full sweep.

The parking lot is calling...

may I recommend some ProSport Gauges mainly the new Premium series. They are just as good as Defi just a lot cheaper and doesnt need a controller.

http://www.prosportgauges.com/...a.htm

A lot of the Mazda, Subaru, Toyota crowd go crazy for them.

Heres a video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuLIrLpZx3A

Apex'i IMO are one of the best/accurate gauges I have ever used. I used their tachometer and water temp for over 2 years with no problems.

when i first did my swap i had autometer mech boost gauges, three of them in less than a month, all three broke/read wrong within a day of installation and everyone was brand new. so, the fourth one got sold. that's not all, the new car i got also had an autometer boost gauge in it, it was 3lbs off, so out it came. at least they stand by their products, even if they are crap.

just as a side, i think omori gauges look the best, because they match the s13 dash very well and they come in 45mm, a plus for a cramped cockpit...

+1 for drunken parking lot donuts, is there any other kind?

I've had an Ultra Lite Pro Comp boost, fuel pressure, and water temp for like 2 years now. Great gauges. The boost and fuel pressure are mechanical, and my water temp is full sweep electric. I love em.

When I finally get around to getting my oil pressure and temp gauges this summer, I will be buying more Autmometer products (cuz I can get em at cost).

All of my gauges are electric and they all read perfectly.

Maybe it's the mechanical gauges that have a problem.

I've ran a pretty decent complement of Pro Comp Ultralites (mech & elec) in 3 different cars now without any problems.Cheap, accurate enough, easy to read, no goddamn ricer colors =

screw you dudes who have autometer gauges that havnt crapped out. maybe drunken donuts cause more wear and tear on gauges (autometer in particular) than normal donuts. i will be buying a new one soon, maybe new ones. gotta get the car running first, but then, oh then, itll be on. those prosport ones look like the bomb, im gonna look into them.

i dont know what it is about being drunk and donuts. i left the "thirsty turtle" two pitchers in the hole and all i wanted to do was lay down some rubber. i did too.

autometers work fine

go ahead, buy defi, waste your money

greddy gauges look pretty but are not made well, and their customer service is horrendous (just like all the other japanese tuning companies)

for me its either:

autometer

or for more $$

AIM or STACK

it would be wise not to blab about a company that you have no experience with.

They aren't a brand new company, and their product are actually really high quality.

Dont be surprised because it doesnt carry a baller price tag that its actually good quality, accurate, and stylish.

Also these gauges are extremly popular in the Subaru, Mazda, Dodge, Toyota crowd, and is the prefered choice on NASIOC.

Only reason they arent as popular is because most Nissan owners tend be close minded and only think in JDM tytness.

think twice think hard.

dogs love me 'cuz i'm crazy sniffable!

my friend is on NASIOC, and i remember him showing them to me a while back. i just didnt know they were so competitively priced. forgot about them until you pointed them out. i generally think cheapness, not jdm tytness, i just didnt know they were the same price as those gauges that shall remain nameless because i hate them so much.

i prefer to think once and as easily as possible. hard thinking makes my brain hurt.

the only problems that I read about were due to installer error and plain stupidity. I say stupidity because some of the people dropped them from 4 ft tables, messed with it, and wired them up wrong, which I dont see how its possible as you can daisy chain them.

You are right, they dont have baller price tags, they have K-Mart price tags.

Most japanese companies are a JOKE, morons think they are somehow better than other companies just because they charge more. I.E. Endless brakes, etc.

Im fine with Autometer, they dont look real pretty, but they work great.
