Is it just me or does the new column on the left side of the page with the forum message listing just takes up too much space? I understand the need to run ads to support this great forum, but it makes reading the message topics a little though. I would rather scroll down the page to get to the messages than to have only 4 words per line in the thread listings.

Agreed. It would be better if they were on the other side of the board. But I can live with it.

I think its annoying too. Since were on the subject, the tool bar at the top, where the search button and your user cp is, is it just me or is that thing way off to the right? Thats what is really bugging me.

1280*1024*32 on a 19" monitor.

No problems here.

I agree too. Very annoying. There's room at the top of the page for more ads. Eliminate the the car picture, shrink the NICO logo, shrink the "advertise on NICO.net", and there's now room for two more ads. You can also have the ads roll so you can have more than one on in the same space. Marketing 101: Annoying the reader does usually inspire the reader to patronize the advertiser.

I think they could be on the side, but the design of the ads needs to be changes to accodomate that.

This same question was asked in the NICO General board, and everybody also agreed that it is annoying. The ads need to be moved. Once you scroll down the list, they are off screen anyway! Place the ads in the banner or something.

Idea: Get rid of the forum menu box thingy and put the ads there... that would give you enough space and you could make the list bigger again. Did I explain that well enough, or does it just sound like babble?

Because some of us still live in the stone age with 14" monitors. :) haha just kidding.. I have a 19" flatscreen and running at 1280x1024 and the left column still eats up about 1/3rd of the screen.
