I finally got my new g37 out on the track. i was reluctant given I had spent a lot of time deciding between it and the 335i, but it was terrific. I was considerably faster than the 350Z's and BMW's. It was the second fastest car overall with over 50+ cars (Z06 won). take a look at the results and picture to prove that everyone should get their car on the track and not just talk about it being fast...

by the way, does anyone know of how to get a trailer hitch on the back. carrying the race tires in the car is a pain!

sorry, i was going to post a picture but I don't know how. that's sad.

Awesome!! How did your brakes hold up?

Glad to see you took it to the track. We have a member here Jeff (Gwoods) that frequents the track. I'm sure he'll pop in here and throw his 0.02 cents in

There was a thread yesterday about trailers. I have seen them on some cars but i dont think i would ever do it on one that i own. Maybe its just because we have a truck to lug that stuff around.

The brakes held up great. we had 7 runs through the course and I was really impressed with the just about everything with the car. the only trouble was I was hitting me head on the roof (due to the helmet), even with the seat all the way down, sunroof open, and positioned back. I am only 6'0".

next event we will see if these results were just a fluke, but I would love to chat with others that race the car.

i can't find the thread on "trailer", any help would be appreciated.

I did in my G35.. got fist place in my class.

It was a dam hot day.. almost 100 Degrees and 100% humidity

I ran 67-68s with VDC off and 70-74s with it on. I only ran two runs with VDC off, because my tires were at their tread warning level and I wanted to be able to drive home.

I could have made better times with VDC off 67s or less.

Modded Scooby Doos and Evos were running 65-68 with slicks they were running 64s

The fastest car of the day (Lotus Elise) ran a 59.

Here is the video.

This one about trailershttp://forums.g35club.org/zerothread/340946A great sticky and inexpensive racing tire is a Toyo Proxis RA1.http://www.toyo.com/docs/tires...=compI have used RA1's for years. They are so sticky that they were the only tires that got me traction on a supercharged mustang cobra I used to have.RA1's are also used in a lot of NASA racing classes.NASA is a great racing group to join to get more track time .Check out their HPDE open track events. They are the cheapest track events around.http://www.nasaproracing.com/I recommend getting some 17" factory take off wheels, because they are strong and cheap, and 17" tires come in a wide range of sizes.

oldandslow - thanks for the advice. it's too late now as i already purchased my race rims/tires, but i went down from my stock 19" OEM wheels to 18" for the race rims. i didn't think 17" could fit on the 08 G37S? i run hoosiers right now, but will keep in mind the toyo's.

i posted on the thread about the hitch, but if you see anything else please let me know.

thanks.

No slicks... just my normal street tires (Sumitomo HTRZ-II)

Pressure was 35 rear 38 front.

The camera was mounted on the window with a thing to hold cameras for bird watching.. They sell them at most camera stores for like $30.

Whoo Hooo another racer!!!!

Yes I love autocrossing my G35 sedan! Too bad your in Ohio and I'm in Arizona.

I run Kumho V710 track tires 275/40/17 all 4 corners. Here is my tires thread. I have a buddy with a truck that meets me at the track and brings my slicks with him. Then later in the week I pick them back up.http://forums.g35club.org/zerothread?id=305296

Heres my last racing threadshttp://forums.g35club.org/zerothread?id=329690 http://forums.g35club.org/zerothread?id=330985

Heres my first racing threadhttp://forums.g35club.org/zerothread?id=312948

I just started track racing it is cool, I also drag race. Have you taken your G to the drag strip yet?

Jeff
