I mentioned something about it in a post earlier but I was sitting around the other day and thought....wow my Z is 15 years old....look at other cars that are 15 years old, they LOOK 15 years old. To me the Z32 design doesn't look like something from the late 80's. And in the same light neither does the 240 really, I mean the S13 is still stylish for an old design.

So I remembered some cars from the late 80's and early 90's that we had around when I was younger...my brother had a 91 eclipse and at that point it was stylin but as soon as 4 years later it was ugly and dated. My mom had a late 80's subuaru wagon, super ugly and 80's looking. We also had a 90 Mitsu Mirage and an 84 escort. All ugly dated cars. Even think of like the early 90's honda's (91 civic for example) or the ugly old mazda's. Until the mid 90's most other import companies didn't have cars that still look stylish today with exception of one or two. Maybe I'm biased and its just me.

What do you think?

Style wise my old 210 is out dated baddly (1980 model. same body since 78) But as for it ageing well, it has done great. Its almost 25 with over 250,000miles and has never had a rebuild. Still runs great. Starts every morning frist try and doesnt burn or leak oil. Oh and still gives 36+mpg! Also there isnt very much rust, just a few little spots of surface rust no bigger than a dime and a hole in each drivers side door.

now the 210 in the back ground did not age well. Its a pile of rusty metel in the shape of a car.

Ricers and 12 year olds always tell me how cool my fiero is. They must not know it's just a $175 car I commute in. It looks fast, which gets people to want to run me all the time but the car is probably only putting out 110-120 of the 140hp it came with.

I know this sounds like Initial-D fan boy ****, but I ran with a Z32 down the mountain earlier this week on the way back from class. It was fun in a friendly sort of beater thrashing way.

yes its aged well, but i also like it when people who dont know cars confuse my car for a porsche 944, thats always fun. definately though i know a lot of people who drop their jaws when i tell them my s13 is an 89, they could never have guessed.

The 1990 Infiniti Q45 still looks new, thanks to clean linear styling and simple lines and fenders. The Audis from that time period, however, look like late 70s leftovers.

And every Jaguar always looks beautiful.

I agree.

I'd put my 10 year old Q45 up against ANYTHING from the same year.

We'll compete in slalom, skidpad, fit and finish, 1/4 mile, 0-140, 60-0, interior dB levels, as well as full concourse car show judging - I have no doubt the Q would dominate overall.

I think the Q's look old in the front, new on the side, and maybe slightly dated in the rear, but ever notice how the 1st gen Q and the current M45 have very similar lines?

My 1970 Mach 1 has aged well. Its got the swoopy lines people still try to duplicate. Also, the body was designed by a man named Shinoda. Little trivia there for ya.

MY '93 Max has aged very well; it still looks good and it runs like new, plus it still outperforms a lot of today's cars.

I think the S13/14 has aged very well. The R32 aged extremely well too.

Hey I own a 91 civic Si, and I love its looks. It set the trend for the rest of the hatch family.

3rd gen Max's OWN!! Two of my friends both have them, both black, both 5spds, both DOHC cars. Very impressive for what they are. Its so hard to find them in good shape anymore though Seems like most 3rd gen's I see are crap.

The FC RX-7 doesn't look out of place at all compared to other 80s cars. I say the body style is fairly modern for a '88

You can't tell a lot of cars have aged until you sit inside and notice the interior. My friends 280ZX is that way. Its also in mint condition with under 60K. I like the older 280Z interior like in my other friends 280Z. Then again any car older than me it automatically feels old.

Let's say *most* Jaguars.

"Hey, nice Taurus. Oh ****, sorry man."

If we're talking about styling, I think a '91 Acura NSX looks damn good and doesn't look dated at all.

Yeah Jerry, thats like all the conversations we have. Especially the fact that your car was designed in the 80's and look it still looks new today. A lot of cars haven't aged well with time. The RX-7 has aged nicely though. I love those cars.

I love the NSX! To me it's as good looking as some of those Italian automobiles.

Good point. That X-type (Ford Mondeo) looks like a$s. Not a fan of the X-type wagon either.

No doubt the RX7's from the late 80's are nice cars, I even used to want one in the worst way. But I think they look dated, my friend had one and everybody kept mistaking it for a dodge shelby or daytona.
