Thinking of doing a RB25DET or more likely a RB26DETT into a G50. Anybody got any info on this? Would the engine bolt right in?

Any info will be appreciated

Yes, midnightsliding did a RB25DET w/ a 5 speed.

Here's the thread

No, it won't "bolt right in".

I dont understand the logic of putting in a SMALLER engine in the Q45,the 4.5 v8 has almost too little torque for the cars weight as is under certain driving conditions{mainly low speed, or 40-50mph in top gear}.

If anything ,I would go larger...as in the new 5.0 infiniti motor or some other large displacement torque moster....GM crate big block would be cheap and nasty powerful, if not a little crude and blue collar

What, you don't like the cast iron block?

What do you mean the VH45DE has enough power may be even over powers this car when properly restored. I am not talking from experice but from what I have heard on this forum.

Yours may feel under powered because it has 278 HP and 292 Torque because japan had to follow american standards with OBD2 but still thats not all bad if you ask me.

And whats with all these engine swap topics I mean an enging swap is useless on these car because of the Clean air act. If you can't drive it on the point then there aint to much use to ME.

The 90-96q was considered powerful for its time, but seriously outclassed by current sport sedans....the new ballpark to play in seems to be 400+ HP/Torque motors connected to 6-8 speed trannys resulting in 5 second 0-60 and high 12,low 13 second quarter mile times.....Even a new v6 maxima,accord,camry,g35,bla bla bla will outrun any stock 90-96Q.

Thats true I think from a dead stop not from a say a 60 MPH rolling start.

The best car in my mind would be a 240SX (because of lightness with a VH45Dett with a super charger but the engines top end would never withstand that even if the top end was modified.

But the setup is fullproff if the motor could handle that because the supercharger would take care of the low end torque and the twin turbo (a small one and a big one) small one to spool up the big one faster would take car of the high end torque.

that might work though MAYBE is the supercharger could be shut of when the turobos kick in.

But I think I sound stupid at this point it all seems like a dream to me.
