Hey guy my budget is around 500-600bucks for a fmic. Ive heard people do it with a spearco core and mandrel bends and a hotpipe. My question is what mandrel bends to get?How many of what kind elbow, u shaped etc...?and where to get them?I have seen some on projectnissan.com but i think that is only a couple of the piping you need.I would like it to go under the radiator so i dont have to relocate the battery, but i dont know if it would work, anyone done it?Also will silicone couplings hold all them together or would welding be a good idea.Any ideas or suggestions are needed.

I have a custom spearco fmic on my car right now and just like you said. Unfortunately I had to go back onto stock ka radiator, because cold pipe does not allow enough room to use a thicker radiator like the koyo. I may be selling it because I live in the desert in southern california and may have to sell due to my car running extremely hot right now. Need to put koyo radiator back on asap. :(

If you dont want to sell it what bends did you use, did you have some company put it together for you?

I use to have pics of it from previous owner, but I had them all deleted including the dimensions of it. Anyhow I bought this from another guy and he had it all custom made for his s13. Used it for a couple months and decided to go back to smic and now I'm doing the same probably. Still deciding if I want to sell it or just get a new cold pipe made to have it fitted with my koyo radiator.

toledo240, you could call f-max and see if they will sell you the front mount kit. i got mine from them(through an authorized dealer) it's a spearco core, but has mild steel powdercoated pipes. i paid 600 for mine, but i think i got a homey discount.

You need about 5 U-bends and someone that can weld. U-bends you can get on e-bay for about $12 a piece. and intercooler for about $300. so it's well under 500 and yes you can let it run under the rad. so good luck man

I would go either through the bat tray or around it using the washer hole.

I had my intercooler 100% custom made. It is two cores welded together and it only cost 270 with the cores and custom endtanks. Best of all it is all black and super sleeper. Pipes cost me 200 bucks powdercoated and all.

I have a 28x9x2.5 endtank to endtank IC. should be enough for my power levels. I've read somewhere a guy made new rad supports, that put the rad more inside and where the rad origanally sits, he put the IC, so the IC stayed in the engine bay. That would mean less pipe usage and shorter distance for the air to travel to the TB. so there are alot of ways to make your custom ic piping. just a little imagination that's all.
