So I remember going to the stealership back in the summer after receiving numerous letters in the mail about "your vehicle may have an outstanding recall" more or less. I didn't really use my car much, only on the weekends if that, so I didn't put too much interest and just decided to wait till my next service since it was coming up anyways. Over about a span of 3 weeks, I got 4 more letters concerning "recall" somewhere in the body. It seemed like they were really serious about this, so I brought it in with my "complimentary" oil change (getting a little more worried now since they had also sent me two of these, so they obviously wanted me to come in). So I bring the car in with the letters and explain how there may be some possible recall for the brake/master cylinder, something like that. So they did the oil change and get back to me rather quickly. They tell me that my car was fine concerning the master brake cylinder, however there was another "voluntary" recall. The guy starts telling me that the exhaust manifold and the Engine Control Module (ECM) need to be replaced on these cars (only some of the 10'-11' Altimas). He told me it's nothing to worry about, and to set up an appointment when I felt comfortable.

 So I've been putting it off for a while now and was just wondering if anyone else has had this recall performed??? My car is at 24k miles and I noticed it shakes at idle sometimes. It only recently started doing this. My car is still under warranty, so whether the problem is a result of the recall or not, it's going to get fixed, just wondering if anyone has done the voluntary recall

Ya actually, just took my coupe in 2 weeks ago for what I thought was just the ECM recall because I had received one of the recall letters. When I went to the stealership they told me that there were two recalls out for my car the Master Brake Cylinder and the Exhaust Manifold and that if everything checked out ok on my car that they would then reprogram the ECM.

So long story short and 3 hours later my car was fine but apparently their computer/programmer to reprogram the ECM was down so I still have to make another appointment to come back in and get that finished. But the service guy said that not getting the reprogram wouldn't hurt my car.

The only issue that I have had with my car is that the rpm will sometimes stick at 1500 or so when I come to a stop and I then have to blip the throttle to get it to come down don't know if the reprogram will fix it but will see once I get it done

bro, our cars look too similar to be within the same 20 mile radius! haha i kid. I actually have lots of family in Glendora and Azusa, so i'm over there all the time....not to mention GMR :chuckle: .
that's weird that your car sticks at so high RPMs. mine is actually the opposite. It happens almost every time i pull into my girlfriend's driveway, and a couple of times at stoplights....i come to a stop and the RPMs drop usually to 512, once 500. I recently got the bullydog tuner and adjusted the idle up a bit, but it still seems to drop at times, not as much, but still. The car has never turned off on me, but it sure does feel like it...not to mention its embarrassing....

haha ya seriously though! Funny you say your over my way all the time because I am actually out in Riverside a decent amount my girlfriend goes to school and lives out there lol. GMR for sure though love that road awesome fun drive :bigthumb:

Ya I don't know what it is about the high rpm doesnt happen all the time but about 1 out of 4 times maybe and when I start the car when its cold I feel like it revs up really high like close to 2000 rpms and stays pretty high for a while till the car is warm I guess and it seems a bit odd to me but maybe that's just our cars haven't heard any other cars start up.

That's strange though that your car drops that low on a stop maybe it is the ECM and we both need a reprogram who knows. I am hoping that the reprogram solves the issue gets a little annoying when my car is reving like that at a stop...

This must have been for the 2.5s only. I never heard anything about any recalls when I had mine, and I'm pretty diligent about having those things taken care of in the event I sell a vehicle. I like to have all of those things caught up to avoid any snags.

this is all ive been able to find online 2010 ALTIMA SEDAN AND COUPE; VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN ECM REPROGRAM AND MANIFOLD CATALYST
Nissan has determined that some 2010 model year Altima vehicles are equipped with an improperly calibrated Engine Control Module (ECM) that may incorrectly detect engine valve closure as engine knock. To correct this condition, Nissan is conducting this Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign to reprogram the Engine Control Module, and inspect (and if needed replace) the exhaust manifold and front exhaust tube. This service will be performed at no charge for parts or labor

This was what the last letter I received from Nissan said about the recall word for word. I think it is only for the 2.5's because when I took my car in there where a couple other people there with 2.5's for the same recall.

Ya it gets a little old with the engine revving thing and its my only real issue so far that I have had with my car. So it would be nice to get everything taken care of.

Hi,

I went to the dealer last summer because I received the recall card. And I am having issues with the car because of the recall. The RPM fluctuates, I hear a revving sound from the front of the car and feel a slight vibration. I took to the dealers 5 times and I am being told there is nothing wrong with the car. I am currently moving into arbitration with the manufacturer, if you want to join me, please let me know and I will raise this issue for others as well. I know it's not individual because I've read other complaints on-line as well. I don't believe this kind of performance is normal and I am not willing to put up with it.

Take care.
Gayane.

I've yet to receive a recall letter of some sort, but thankfully I have no problems with mine as of yet.

Hi SC20!

I received your email but for some reason can't reply to you in a private message. I moved into arbitration with Nissan this morning. Please email me at kulikgay @ yahoo . com if you want to discuss this further.

Blessings.
Gayane.
