anyone can help with r 134 ?

My ac system is empty I found leak and after I replace leaking part I want to convert system to r134 is there anything also I need to do or just go ahead and charge it ?

Wat year is your car and are you sure you had r12 before? If not all you need is the oil and 134 freon and you are golden. Since it was empty typically a shop would pull a vacuum but um i doubt you have a machine to do that. I say fill it and do this with a manifold gage. 2lb 7oz's should be plenty.

maxima is 1998 gxe it was in crash before i got it and i am sure there is nothing in the system

That should be 134 not r12 anyways. I know my 97 was 134 but im not 100% sure when they switched over . I think it was in late 94 early 95.
