Hey,Im building my motor right now through a shop (forged rods pistons). Im over boring the pistons from 86 to 87mm. The guy already sent it to the machine shop, the first week of march, and the block is still not back yet. Am I getting screwed or does it usually take this long? Has anyone built their motor, and sent it to the machine shop, how long did it take for you to get it back?

Thanks

this is impossible to answer. if the shop is backed up it may take longer. 3 or 4 days turn around is what I would expect. Did you send your pistons there as well?

Man, dnt fcking remind me. Ive been without a car now for weeks, and it killing me. I feel like pulling it from the shop, but the people do good work and I have known them for a long time. Thats what happen when you mix friend and business.

I sent my Prelude motor in 2 weeks ago and it is still not done. I have done a lot of business with my machinest, but he is just really backed up right now. When you add that with the time a shop will need to schedule the car in to pull and dissasemble the motor, plus time to reassemble and install the motor you are probably looking at at least a month.

I drop my stuff off at my machine shop at 8 in the morning and they usually call me to come pick it up at like 4'sh. AWESOME turn around time. They have put together heads, bored and honed blocks, blanced stuff. Every time in 1 day.

My machine shop was backed up for almost a month before they got to my motor, another local machine shop that is known for being extremely good refused to accept it at all. The wait would have been upwards of 2 or 3 months  Its likely you just have several people in line before you.
