Well I put my car into a wall yesterday at a drift event but was able to fix the body enough to keep running. The next run i was kind of pissed so I bounced of the redline a little bit too long. Tink tink tink same noise I heard before when i accidentaly put too thin of oil in there. I knew I blew a couple lifters again. I havent taken her apart to see how many this time but I'm thinking their towards the rear of the engine. Am I just running too thin of oil or what. I run 10w30 royal purple for the last 3 years and the first time I blew some lifters was when I tried redline 5w30 on accident. I'm pretty sure my motor is ready for a rebuild as i think some of the rings may be messed up from the violent backfires that happened earlier.

Oh yeah does any have a built motor lying around that they might be willing to get rid of? I need a reliable redline bouncing monster. If I can't buy one I'll make one.

IMHO, you should be running a 20W40 or even a 20W50 in the summers.

Check out page MA-12 in the FSM.

I really don't like 30W in a turbo motor unless it's real cold. Just from experience.

I used the 10w30 since the car was in norcal where it was cold for me coming from hawaii but since I moved to socal I've been using the same 10w30. Maybe next case I'll go with the 20w40.

Do you blow them while they are hot or cold. I'd be worried about you burning your mouth if you tried it while they were hot ..hohoho.

On a more serious note, you could wear them out if you haven't inspected them for 200,000-300,000kms, and tey are all sludged up thanks to a Japanese owners neglect..

Sounds like you know what you are doing though..so it looks like you've found their limit! :-)
