Bought mine from Venus for a little over $1300 about 6-8 months ago. I dont live far away so I just went down and inspected the clip myself.

If you can go in and pick it up, go for it. Otherwise, don't. They have a bad reputation when it comes to shipping motors. I had a bad experience with them...I bet you can find my thread somewhere if you search.

That's a bargain. I don't know how people compression test a non-currently-running motor, but if the numbers are good buy that bad boy. I paid $1000 for the motor and shipping, tax, and credit card fee added another $343.

Both engines i've ordered from Venus Auto have been good, one a $250 SR20DE fwd and the other a $1000 RB20DET. You can get a bad engine from just about anyone importing, especially with most of the low low mileage stuff already sold. Just dont order from like flashoptions or somewhere that doesn't have the engine/clip in the USA already.
