Well the time has come for the added cargo space when traveling, Car seat, stroller, cooler, pack and play has the car basically full not including our luggage, so I am looking to get a roofbag or cargo bag for the top of the car. Anyone else used one of these ? An earlier post on here mentioned Roofbag.com as a good one to use since there isnt a roof rack on the versa. Just wanted to know how well they work or what you all have used for added cargo.....Thanks guys!

REI has Thule and Yakima roof racks you can buy online. It has all the necessary instructions for installation.

Here is one of their site for $299. You can store your bikes, gear boxes, camping equipment, water stuff, etc. It's for the hatchback, they also have them for the sedan.http://www.rei.com/RackFitter?...=8000

I think what you get depends a lot on how often you're really going to need/use it. This summer we encountered needing one, but since we will only will be using it once a year, at most, we stayed cheap. The Highland universal suits our very limited needs and was at Pep Boys so we were able to avoid shipping charges.

Combined price for the rack and the cargo bag was $80.

It's not the higher quality (or price) of a Yakima or Thule, but if you're only using it once a year it's a cheap alternative. If you're going to use it more often than once or twice a year, buy one of the better ones suggested by others here.

We saw the statement that it wouldn't work with the Versa, too, but Pep Boys let us take it out into the parking lot and try it for ourselves. We hooked into the edge where the headliner inside the car is up against the metal. The closed doors help hold it in place.

Getting the hooks to stay can be a problem as you're shutting the doors which is one major reason I said it's only a cheap alternative. It depends on how much of an inconvenience it's going to be to work with them.

My suggestion would be to go to a place that carries the rack and check it yourself.
