like i asked, have any of you guys bought an ebay turbo from a company called mirage power? in particular this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...A1318 its a t25/28 hybrid. when i got the turbo it was set up for a top mount, so i spun the whole middle section till it was ready for bottom mount. the coolant lines and oil dump fit right into it, but the oil inlet wasn't fitting so i called frsport to see if their ss lines would work, they said only work for garrett turbos. so i asked this same company i bought the turbo from about a fitting line and i ended up purchasing a nice ss line. only problem is it doesnt fit for sh*t. The turbo side of the line doesnt fit at all, infact it fits perfectly with the stock garrett t25... and the block end of it is a 1/8" adapter. thats not a huge problem, i could just get a bigger fitting to fit onto that. im wondering if maybe the hole for the turbo inlet on the turbo is actually a faulty size, like they messed up on it or something or what. any info would be great. im about ready to kill something

I think it would be fun to buy one and boost the hell out of it til it blows, but only if it were direct bolt on. If it required any modding it's not worth it.

But I would never buy one if I were really looking to upgrade my turbo. I mean come on.. ebay turbo? That's just pushin it. Cant wait to get a garret gt30 eventually

I just bought a t3 t4 Garrett yesterday journal bearing i got it for 60 dollars cheaper than most of the web site off ebay ,i have piks to prove its a Garrett. you can get name brand good stuff from ebay . All the really cheap bad parts have giving ebay a bad name . 582.00 including 2-3 day shipping . Some things you can cheap out on and some thing you just don't take the chance .

dont get me wrong, i feel shady for getting an ebay turbo. the problem is i NEED my car for everyday commute and had to replace it asap with minal $$. im not planning to run straights or boost the shift outta it, i just needed it to run. i'll be replacing it with a legit garrett whenever i can get the money for it. oh i found out the inlet hole on the turbo was a MIX 5, so i went to TMS racing in Rancho Cordova and the guy helped me in 15 min and got me the part, so now im happy

Back in July of this year I purchased a GT35R HYBRID BALL BEARING T3 FLANGE TURBOCHARGER from Mirage Power for my '04 Impreza. I was hesitant at first about the quality, since this was obviously not a Garrett, which I have used in souping up my other cars; but shortage of funds and the need of a quick purchase basically forced me to seek a Garrett alternative. I'm happy to report that my original suspicions were completely unfounded.

This Turbo from Mirage has handled incredibly. I was also kinda skeptical about the double brass bearings for the mini-turbines, but they also are smooth as silk. And my mechanic did a bang-up job on adapting all the connections relatively easily.

The next time around, if I have the extra grand to blow, I'd still go Garrett. But if money's tight, Mirage Power is an excellent alternative.

It's the same thing with all of the non-name brand turbos. They tend to be hit and miss. Quality control is what you're paying for when you buy a name brand.
