Edited again.

So plenty of reputable auto parts sites sell Sachs clutch kits (looking at rock auto at the moment).

It will end up saving me a few $$ verses the Exedy, mostly because of shipping everything I'm buying from 1 location instead of 2. Since this is a reputable dealer selling this as an OEM quality replacement (and Rock Auto has awesome customer service so I know I can return it if I need to) I'm not as concerned about buying this as I would be some off brand.

But I'd still like to hear from anybody who has experience with this kit. Let me know what you think if you've used it!

Uhhhhh 65 shipped for a clutch? Does this include the pressure plate or even a throwout bearing? Sounds like the price of a replacement oem equivalent disk.

Look into South Bend clutches or the "White Bunny" clutch swap if you think you'll ever use the car for more than daily driving. Both are cheap and will hold decent power while lasting a long time.

It's a OEM clutch kit including the following:

This Kit includes:

Pressure Plate Assembly, Clutch Disc, Release Bearing, Pilot Bearing, Alignment Tool

I know it it seems to cheap to be true, that's why I'm asking. Oh, and I'm not planning on boosting this motor so I'm not looking to upgrade. I'm really only doing the clutch because I'm replacing the KA and I'll have it out of the car.

I would never trust that. I have no experience, but that is too cheap. I am all for saving money when you can but a clutch isn't something to cheap out on.

Edited post to ask about any of the various ebay clutch kits. If you've used one that you were happy with, please let me know and point me to the seller!

I don't HAVE to. I'm just trying to save some money IF I can. But I know that there is a huge tendency to assume that ebay stuff is crap. A lot of it is, but some of it isn't. I'm just trying to find out if there's a clutch kit that isn't crap that could save me a little $$. If not I'll just end up buying the exedy like everybody else does.

well true... but its a clutch. a buddy of mine bought a "exedy" clutch kit/flywheel off ebay..(Pressure Plate , Disc, Release Bearing, Pilot Bearing) and after about 3k miles he blew a pin on his flywheel and it punched a hole in his transmission.. bad day and cost him alot more than just going with a quality clutch from the get go

i bought a clutch for my 84 toyota pickup off ebay. i had it in there for about a year and when i took it out it had cracks all over the clutch disk. keep in mind i beat the holy f*** s*** out of that clutch. but it held nice and i would think if you didnt beat on it too hard it would be fine.

I vote Exedy. Also with any after market clutch be prepared to buy an OEM TOB. Sometimes the TOB provided has movement. Good Luck!

Also, I don't want to start a stupid debate about Ebay goods, but please don't label products purchased on Ebay "Ebay so-and-so item". I make most of my "name brand" purchases from Ebay. They are a marketplace, not a manufacturer, so don't hate. If you must use Ebay in the item description, label it as "generic Ebay crap" instead. Thank you.

You're right, but what I have in mind are the various off brand ebay clutches such as Gripforce, Trendex and a couple others that all have the same product description as above. I buy and sell on ebay a ton so I wouldn't even ask if I was referring to name brand stuff sold on ebay.

yea ive used em N beat em only bcuz i used to sell them it all depends on what one u get theres HD,reg, ceramic,n organic, the hd and the ceramic r good the hd is better for kicking and hard drifting/draging but if ur running a lil higher hp and its not a daily drifter go ceramic

but if u wanna go ebay brand theres only a couple i trust/used for my rb20 the last 2 times ive been running the F1 Racing stage 4 6-puck solid(unsprung) copper ceramic clutch witch have worked awsome but the only other one ive used/next one going in is the XTR stage 4 kit witch is basically the same thing just differnt name

Thanks for the suggestions. I only need this for a mostly stock DD, so it sounds like the Sachs should be fine. I ordered the OEM Sachs clutch kit.
