Anybody tried home-made vertical doors for S14?

I was just wondering if anyone has tried this or thinking about it. Vertical Door kits are outrageously expensive and really the parts shouldnt't be that expensive. Anybody gonna try this?

Please dont' do that...Although I like MY IDEA of going old school with the suicide doors...On my vg swap I'm welding my doors shut.Just because I like getting in through the window. jus tLike I jump into my vert.

There's a reason why they are expensive, not just the niche market thing.

I actually bought a cd that outlines how to make custom vertical doors, but it was easier said than actually done.

I'm having a custom kit built right now for myself, but price is > 1k. Lots of test fitting and experimenting. Not for the average guy to make himself unless you have a lot of time on your hands and more dedication. Complete bolt on though, hopefully no fender modifying or anything.

O snap....I cnn so do that door hinge thing.Except I'd cut into the door and weld then fiberglass over....SOB...Think we'll do i to my buddy's car..black S13. Think that is Home Depot mod of the year... Those hinges aren't the sturdy.They look like typical brass. for abotu double the value you cna get much bette rones.Cost you maybe $10 a piece for a hing and then your body work $$

How are you going to manage to attach a hinge to something that does not exist on a S14... You do know the upper window sill is not part of the door right?

i think it can be done... with just a little mocking... if someone had one of the kits that they sell, you could just get the measurements from it, and pattern your own just like the real one
