not to sure on the width except the fact that 7.5in=190.49mm. in terms of diameter use this calculator http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

225's may be getting a little wide for a 7 1/2" wide rim. But it should probably be the limit. I'd go with the 215's myself. As far as 35 or 40 series, depends on what you want for an overall diameter or look. The 35 will have a smaller sidewall therefore a smaller diameter. There is also a higher risk of damaging the rim with the smaller one, but I like the look of the 35 better myself. BTMO. I have 215/35/19's on my Scion, and 285/30/19 R and 225/35/19's F on my 240.

well i mentioned the tire calc so the proper % for the sidewall could be figured out. i think the stock wheels should be 15x6 205/60/15...if so you should get 215 or 225/40/18. .4% too slow of a speed reading on the 215 and 1.6% too slow on the 225.

with the lower 35% sidewalls it's only .4in difference on both 215/225 which won't change the looks too much but will through off the speed dramaticaly.
