Anybody seen this? Speedometer LCD issue

Anybody have this issue? Next to the P indicator, what happened? Is it just an led bulb?

I think it's the Foot-on-the-brake-pedal light.

^^ yes. Your brake switch may be acting up or something along those lines.

The foot on the brake symbol still shows underneath this, weird.

Does that animate? It looks more like a corrupt display driver to me. Did you hammer that small lcd with a large hammer or something?

I never touched it, got in one morning fired it up, and boom there it was.

I second this, looks like damaged/leaky LCD panel. Doesn't always take much of an impact to damage one, so perhaps it's possibly due to some defect plus freezing.

Yup.

If you look closely the pixels for the "P R N D" show up fine and the squiggly lines are behind it - but that won't show up in my small photo. It might be something delaminating behind that.

Mine went away when the weather warmed up, go figure.

Perhaps your car is just happy to see you?

I found a gauge cluster in mint condition on Ebay with the same mileage. Seller had swapped his pod out for a the blue/white gauges and had this sitting in the closet. My gross barbed pen15 pixel splotch is gone! The clear lens is also in great condition.
