It's an active cooler.

Other than the radiator and fan you can have a tranny cooler, Active suspension cooler and some may even have a cooler for the differential. That's alot of coolers!

Gotcha. I've never poked around an active Q, so didn't recognize it. Where do they mount it? Could it be used as a tranny cooler?

Install it behind bumper on driver's side. If you could make it temp dependant, that would be awesome. Say at 170 it comes on and stays on to maintain transm fluid tem. good find!

Yeah the active cooler goes in the drivers side wheel well, for reference it would be like right under the airbox....

You could easily adapt this to be a tranny cooler!!

Hey, when you buy this cooler make sure He includes the brackets that hold it into place because if you want to put it where it would normally go on an active Q then you'll need those brackets. Ask about the air intake peice as well.

it would work well as a tranny cooler--but you really need the temp switch, relay, mounting brackets, etc. I'd guess it is 'equivalent' to the '10,000" towing' coolers that go in front of the radiator.

Is there a temp switch integrated into the active system that I would be able to use for a trans application?

The temp switch turns on the little fan.... I would just ask for him to maek sure he includes EVERYTHING, all wiring, fans, relays, etc....

*UPDATE*

Unfortunately, the seller would not respond to my questions regarding the other misc. parts, so I decided to pass. Look for me in the wheel well of an old active Q in a salvage yard soon!
