Anybody put a TURBO in a the new generation Sentra SER or Sentra SER Spec V ?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

This may be a dumb question, but has anyone put a turbo into a new generation Sentra SER or Sentra SER Spec V yet?

And if so how much hp is one to expect?

I saw OnefastStanza's Spec V the other day and it reall looked cool, which is why I thought of this question.

Fred...:)

Supposedly this guy Travis on the Sentra Forums has done one. I don't know what kind of power it makes. Also, me and Dauntless plan on making a kit. So hopefully my spec will be turbo'd in a few months from now.

DAmn, EZCheese, you are everywhere. I see you on lots o' boards :)

Anyhow, yeah I was going to say Travis from B15Sentra.net is working on one. I wasn't aware had actually gotten it done though. Last I heard he was looking for it to put out ~250whp which would be very sweet. If I had a little extra cash and lived closer to LA, I would guinea pig my car but unfortunately that is not the case

Well Fred, I hope that answers your question. There is a Supercharger that is being prototyped on the Street Concepts SE-R that has been touring shows this year also. It is done up by Area51 but I think they are still working on it. In the latest issue of Turbo it was said to make 205whp at 5.5psi

Yeah, I go in spurts though. Like for one month, I'll make a million posts on like 50 different boards. But then I'll go a month and make 2 posts. (Like this past month).

Problem is right now I don't have a good internet connection. And I work too much to have time to post whore.

What all boards have you seen me on? I think I'm on all the sentra boards that there are. I'm an admin on this board though, so I'm kinda obligated to post here :)

Acctually, last i heard, travis was still working on it. He has pics up on B15sentra.net

He had the turbo manifold made and the turbo is on. It looks pretty nice.

Anyways, I may one day go turbo as well. A buddy of mine works at a shop, he told me if i bought the parts they could make the kit. He mentioned getting a Z32 turbo. Would that work? Maybe getting it rebuilt too? Anyways, I been thinking about it, but i need alot more shti done first....

If you ever do go turbo, don't use a Z32 turbo. They are way to small for your engine. You need a much larger turbo for the 2.5L displacement. A Z32 turbo will be out of it's efficiency very easily on a spec V.

Yeah I am kind of the same way. I have seen you on B15Sentra.net, here, and theVBoard.com (I am a mod on this one). I used to be on B15Sentra.net quite a bit but I got tired of reading a butt load of posts so I only scan it every couple days or so and check out the regional section prolly the most frequently. B15Sentra.net has gotten to be a bit of a flame haven as of late too so that kinda annoys me.

I know Travis from sr20de forum, His spec V kit is coming along nicely, I'm not sure what engine management he decided on since no one makes an aftermarket ECU for the B15, i personally don't think anyone will ever get a lot of boost out of the QR, It's a great NA motor, but it doesn't like forced induction that much. If you could be happy with 225 to 265 hp then it would be ok for boost, anything beyond that would require more work than its worth.

Yeah, I realize that it won't hold boost like an SR will. Some people say it sucks because of the open deck design. I don't see that as a problem. The problem is the crank journals. But if you drop in an SR crank, that solves that problem :)

I would like 230ish to begin with, then pull the motor and build the hell out of it, then get some crazy power.

whats the practicality of the qr25-sr20 build? if anyone knows what im talking about... taking the stronger sr20 parts, and the better parts from a qr25 and building one strong, high revving monster of a hybrid engine?i know i read about it in SCC. it seemed to be a fairly simple (relativly speaking) buildup...

Yeah, nobody really knows yet. But I've heard rumors of people studying it. I will most likely be looking into this in much further depth in the next couple months myself. Ofcourse, I will post info about it all over if and when I do do this.

Actually Greg, I don't own a Spec V, mine's an SE (SR20, not QR25), and is currently de-turbo'd, though that my change again a few years down the road with a much more interesting setup .

Anyway, to answer the initial question and a few others.

There are plenty of boosted Spec Vs out there. Some have internal mods to handle it, a few are just at relatively low boost. I want to say I've seen dynos anywhere from 220whp to 400whp.

There is a SQR hyrbrid out there as well. That's Trav's doing. I want to say it revs to 9000rpm at nearly 20psi or something similarly ridiculous.

He hasn't moved yet. He's still in Louisiana.
