thanks for yur inputs.
You can get parts for the CA at any autoparts store. The CA had a USDM counterpart. Its just the aftermarket support isnt as good as some of the other motors, but its still out there if you look.BigDAT wrote:not trying to busrt your bubble here but parts for a CA are much more scarce and from what I have seen, more expensive.
Good luck if you do stick with the CA though

Have you ever owned a CA? Because CA parts are really not hard to find. Most maintenance parts you can find at your local parts store. You just use old pulsar (ca18de) parts, or a few s12 (ca18et) parts. Its almost as easy as finding KA parts since the JDM CA has a USDM counterpart that has crossover parts. We have a whole cross reference list in the CA forum of USDM parts that are compatible with the JDM CA. So basically all I have to do when my CA breaks down is go to NAPA, which is neither hard to find or expensive. And a stock rebuild kit is a whole 400 bucks. So I dont see how that adds up to a $10,000 ls1 swap, or a 6k rb25 swap. If you rebuild a CA you will be around the same cost as a stock SR swap (non-rebuilt). I think people are just really misinformed on the CA engine series thinking that since its old it is super expensive and parts are rare. But in reality parts are easy to find and aftermarket parts are really not that rare either if you spend a little bit of time looking. I just wanted to clear that up dude.Lobo240sx wrote:CA parts are hard to find and expensive. Badass engine don't get me wrong. If you plan on going die hard CA, plan on spending some money for a rebuild + the whole works. By the time you did that you could go RB,LS1,KA-T,SR and have some available parts when your ride goes down. I seen one CA with a T3 Turbo on 10psi run and I tell you what it hauled some balls. Beat stock T25 BPU SR's running 15 psi like nothing lol. All in the tuning.
There is a guy here locally is stuck on a CA also. He is trying to put it in a older Datsun 510. If you find one give a feedback.
No, I haven't owned a CA don't ever plan to lol. I have my reasons and I'm really not going to get into it. I'll go KA-T / RB before I ever touch a CA. Cool congrats go to NAPA and get your parts. SR parts can be found just as easy as a KA. You have to know your connections and interchangeable USDM/JDM parts. Or buy spare parts on the side so you can be back up and running.Frankenfourty wrote:Have you ever owned a CA? Because CA parts are really not hard to find. Nothing wrong with that. The CA isn't for everyone. The other motors you listed are good motors, its all in personal preference.Lobo240sx wrote:
