How do you figure? Not being a smartass but I really don't understand your thinking. I guess some of the newer Iron blocks will hold a s***load of HP.S13_love wrote:

I always figured that iron blocks can hold a lot more power than aluminum blocks or they wont break as easy (however you like to see it as), old or new for that matter.fiznowler wrote:

The design of the block is the most important factor. If you look at the aftermarket blocks available for domestic v8s you'll find most of the super high performance blocks are aluminum. They just have more material in the right places.S13_love wrote:I always figured that iron blocks can hold a lot more power than aluminum blocks or they wont break as easy (however you like to see it as), old or new for that matter.
I didn't mean to hijack this guys thread but if ya wanna know. I am putting in an aluminum 6.2L L92 motor from an 07 Escalade that with a tune and cam makes 530hp at the flywheel. This thing makes 400ft/lbs of torque at 2000rpm I should have it on the road in about 2 months.s14derrick wrote:something bigger?
Yeah, thats true...i guess it really does all comes down to the design of the block in the end.Crazyirish wrote:
