So I just did my transmission mount and really debated on wether I was going to put that steel weight back on. I am sure it stops some vibration or resanence but do I really care after lowering the car and installing 18" wheels. Has anybody else left it off? Did you get your taxes audited soon after? Has there been some other dreadful event happen after removal (Kinda like removing your mattress tags)?

Scott - That piece weighs as much as a small child. Any difference in vibration with or without the weight? How do you like my new rims?

So far it's on the car. I decided to reinstall it for now, but I am doing the motor mounts in a couple of days and may take it off then. The picture didn't come up but you can forward it to my email. We should do a Nor Cal Q Dinner some evening. There are several other Q owners in the area.....

I have 4 extra dampeners on my 90Q including a heavy metal plate welded to real of drivers premuffler. About 23 pounds worth.

Spent a week measuring vibrations and fixing the design.

But then I only weigh 160 so lots of reserve.http://www.deicon.com/vib_tuto...f.pdf

Mine is off rihgt now, i just never fiddled with it... i figured it was a metal plate to prevent messing the crossmember up when you jack up the trans.....

Maybe ill slap it on.

Your steel weight is off and you've been fighting driveline vibrations for nearly a year?

No its only been off for a month or so... I noticed no changes in vibrations... But hell, i might as well put it back on and see what happens.
