I've got photoshop on my computer, but I'm not very good at it. Can someone help me? I'm trying to combine these two photos to make a map. I want to put the topo map on top of the aerial map and set the topo map to be somewhat transparent. My goal is to have an aerial map with the details from the topo.

I've seen it done before and that's what the guy said he did, but now I've lost contact with him.

Can someone help?

I had to attach the files in seperate posts. If someone wants to just do it for me that's great, but I'd also like to know how so I can do it for other areas.

EDIT: ^^^beaten^^^

I can do this for you when I get home, but I'll try and explain it to you for now.

First of all, save both images.

*Open photoshop, and open both files.*On the aerial map, create a new layer (make sure your layers window is open), the icon to create a new layer in that window is a box with a * in the top right (if I recall correctly, i'm doing this out of memory)*Click on view at the top, and make sure snap is checked*Click and hold anywhere on the topo map, and drag it down to the aerial map (make sure it completely covers the aerial map, with snap turned on this should be pretty easy)*Now, go to your layers window and you will see a transparancy slider bar. Click and slide that until you get the desired transparancy

hopefully this works for you, i'm going to try it from home and make sure I didn't omit any steps

Exactly! How'd you do that? For some reason I can't add a new layer. The entire layer option on my PS is greyed out?

Ahh, forgot about that. Gif or BMP files do not allow layers. Easy solution though, select all, copy, and go to file/new (the dimensions will already be correct). Then just paste that image in, and now you're free to create new layers and add effects.
