What's up yall, it's been a while since I posted.

I was wondering if anybody had heard if there would be a software update ever for the G37 dash / controls etc?

I pointed out before that the iPod navigation could really benefit from the ability to scroll down/up by just holding down the button instead of having to click it over and over. Also, I notice that if I pick up a call on the bluetooth, the song in the iPod keeps playing which should probably be paused. Lastly, if I go through my huge list of artist names and say.. get down to the "M's" and pick a song, the next time I scroll through artists, I would like to be put where I left off.. in the "M's" and not all the way back at the top where I have to scroll from the beginning.. one click at a time.

I posted earlier about the "iPod is not connected" messages, but it turns out that only happens when my iPod would normally be hanging on it's own seeking on the hard drive.. maybe if they had a more user friendly message i.e. "iPod working..." or something similar. I'm sure iPod Touch and iPhone users would like some more compatibility with their devices as well. Also, I'd really like to be able to do a bluetooth transfer of address book contacts with my Blackberry.

Anybody else have any ideas for things they could put in a software update?

If one of your biggest issues is having to scroll through every single song, you can try a couple things that might help. First off, I hope you've already done this and organized every song in a folder by artist. Then when you select a song for that artist, it should leave you in that folder. Also, instead of scrolling down each song by clicking on the arrow, you can also rotate the dial that the arrows sit on. That seems to work a lot faster for me. But yeah, something like a search by first letter thing would be nice for the software.

A search would be awesome, but yeah, I'm searching by artist, not song that would be CRAZY hehe.

Yes, they really need to do some tweaking on the iPod interface. I use one of the bigger ones, where I've got somewhere around 15k songs and hundreds of artists. I just gave up on being able to pick an individual artist. It takes way too long just to get to the mid-point, never mind the bottom of the list.

It would be nice to be able to use voice commands to pick as well....

I heard the interface was updateable through the compact flash slot, but I hadn't heard about when any update was planned and if any of the issues we're bringing up would be addressed. It would be awesome for these features to get included in an update sometime hopefully soon as these are really the only things I have to ***** about with the g37

Also the navigation update:

I was kind of hoping for an update to the interface itself...

I'd like Infiniti to redo the graphics and better utilize the screen space. I hate that the font for the song playing on the radio is so tiny when there is a ton of onscreen real estate. The buttons are great; I completely believe that they did work with sensory scientists on the feel and response of the buttons. I wish they put the same effort into the screen layout and appearance.
