Anybody interested in tail light covers?

I am working with a guy on making some tail light covers for the hatchback and want to see how many people will be interested. These will be made by the same person who sells the eyelids on ebay.



this is the basic idea of what i was thinking they will look like. I am no artist so it is a bit rough but I think I was able to get the idea across. Main reason i think these will be nice is because it will get rid of all that red from the tail lights. especially looking forward to this on my black hatch.

These will only work on the hatch. i didn't put anything together for the sedan because i don't own a sedan, however, if a sedan owner has an idea for theirs i will be happy to pass it along.

hatch owners, please let me know if you are interested in these or may have some other ideas for them.

the tail light covers are not available. I emailed him on Tuesday and am waiting for a response. if i don't hear anything on Saturday then i will email him again.

Just an update. He sent me an email and said that he will make these. He was not sure when he will be able to produce these. I am watching for them to come up for sale and will post on here when the time comes.

WOW! honestly, i was working on designing sumthing exactly like those on my tail lights, except on ur model ur blocking off the little slit of light on the side of the tail light (hope you know what im talking about, its hard to explain) but im definitely down wit these if its a good fit. take my model into consideration though which is exactly like yours but traces around that slit and doesnt cover it other than that..great minds think alike check out my "new eyelids" thread that i put up in the Exterior Forum...ur one of the reasons y i got custom eyelids on my V because i liked they way it lookd on yours. by the way love everything else u doing wit the V keep up the gud work bro

I am not sure what you are talking about with the slit. do you have a picture that you can show this slit with?

These are being made by same guy that did the eyelids. they fit well and looked great so I hope these will have same quality. I saw your eyelids. they look awesome. I wish I was able to spray paint better because I'd prob use niteshade quite a bit. I actually got the eyelids because the tint on the headlights was lifting up around the hump. so i cut the part around the hump away and put on the eyelids.

ill try to post a picture up ASAP. and thx on my eyelids $30 well spent, though, they r tints...not niteshade spray paint (thought bout using that but i found a guy near me that does decals for truck companies and im guessing some NASCAR stuff so i confronted him about it and he did it no problem). but yea too bad i live in NY. i already got one idea that i had n was lookin on ebay for but after months of searching you provided a link to it. The shark fin. ones on ebay wouldnt have got a radio reception so i didnt want to invest in something like that thats 100% just for looks, u kno? but thx again. im just trying to catch up with u guys

Oh i did not realize it was tint. saw the pic with the tape and the way the parking lights were not cover just thought it was niteshade. that is some very nice work with the tint then. bet that took some time. glad to help out with the link to the shark fin. that is same reason i got it. i listen to the radio in the morning and wanted to make sure that i would still be able to do that. think i may be the first versa to do it. haven't seen any others, but hopefully it will catch on.

this was the little slit i was talking about...


in my design that slit is not covered. i guess its just so people on the side of you can see if your braking...not a big deal tho, just an idea for ya

Oh i see. I just saw this on my tail light tonight. I think it may be too late to change anything though. but will see if it is possible. never noticed that before.

should have easy install. the eyelids were just held on with double sided tape. sure these will be same

the eyelids came in primer so you painted them to match yourself. i left my eyelids the primer because i liked how the flat black looked on the black exterior. will probably paint thes covers gloss black when i get them. havent seen anything yet. hope they will be available soon.

I have not heard anything yet about them. Last thing I heard was he was backed up and was not sure when he would be able to get to it. I will try to email him and see if there has been any progress on them.

Hello there again. Hope all is well. I don't mean to be a bother, but I have had many people asking for updates on how the covers are coming along. I was just wondering If you have been able to start them or if you have a possible ETA for these. Just trying to keep everyone updated.

Not a problem. Just wanted an update so can let them know. There are bout 10 people right now, but seems to keep growing. Just had someone ask me about them today. Do you by any chance know of an ETA on them?

when I start it it will take a few weeks to get a prototype made. Then if we can a member who lives in my area to test fit it. When business slows down is when I get time to make new molds. Again its hard to say when sorry I can't give a time frame. I have the tail lights in my storage. I'll have to go and find them.

Nothing yet. I know what you mean. Its same here. I'm actually waiting to redo the tint on my tails till this is done. But I am starting to lose confidence on this guy. Starting to wonder if we will see it soon or at all. I am going to email him tomorrow and see if I can push him a little.
