Good lord man, I'm too good at collecting parts. Maybe I should start building something already.

Well maybe if you spent less money on said shoebox collection and bought a better camera, I could discern wtf exactly I'm looking at.

You're a 20 guy, right? Well the time has come for me to start planning my RB20 build and I can throw around ridiculous ideas all day in my head but very few people in the states have the knowledge to help me...

RB26 pistons don't connect to RB20 rods, right? Do RB26 rods connect to the 20 crank? Or would I be better off just ordering some custom pistons for a 2.2liter? Does boring out the 20 block that much cause any complications? Where is a good site to find RB20 internal parts that aren't outrageously priced, and that's in freakin' english? You have any hookups? Whata are stock pistons and rods good to?

Cams, I hear RB25 ones are a direct swap and just sheer number reading seems to imply a nice upgrade. Thoughts? Experience? (Not really looking into the whole DE thing cuz it seems to be only a minor gain)What valvetrain upgrades, like springs and valve-related stuff, should I look at that is semi-economical but will let me rev higher and provide better flow to take advantage of a cam and turbo upgrade? Again, a link would be appreciated.

Oh, and any other little tidbits I might not know that you wanna throw in, feel free.

yeah my apartment is full of car parts too, although to my credit the tires are all neatly stacked, and the boxes of car parts are divided into categories and stacked up or neatly organized.

what kind of seat is that?

LOL Not sure you need to be so picky...searching for a *good* maid service. Even a mediocre one would make a big improvement. I'm horrible at staying organized, but I'm glad I'm not that bad yet.

EDIT: Uh, is that the garage, or a room in the house?

I checked the HKS japan site and the 2.2 kit they made is no longer listed. There was supposed to be a way to stroke the RB20 with an RB26 crank RB20 rods and 4AGZ pistons(MR2 supercharger) I think your best bet would be to prep the 20 crank and rods and drop some us-sourced oversized forged pistons. The RB20 is not getting much support anymore. As far as the valvetrain a buddy of mine was using RB26 cams in his 20 with the conversion to the 26s solid lifters. It's not worth it to reuse 25 and 26 stuff unless you already have it lying around. I would put the money into these things;

Forged pistons on prepped OE rods and crank with the whole assembly dynamicly balanced.

metal head gasket, tomei cams, springs and solid lifters in a fully prepped head.

assuming a properly sized turbo and adequate fuel delivery you should be able to have a streetable 400hp.

You should talk to WD about this, he has gone farther with the 20 than I have.

Thanks, and Brian's on my AIM list, just waiting for him to log on.

Just finished plotting the GT30R for the 20 and it seems pretty good at either 1 or 1.5 bar, maybe a little advantge to 1. Any turbos you'd suggest?

I am not versed enough in proper turbo selection to reccomend what someone else should spend their money on. I want in the neighborhood of 400hp on the built FJ after I prove the concept with the junkyard mill so I am looking at a T04R. I have always wanted one so it's partly desire.

With a T4 turbine too? (While the FJ was my first choice, they're pretty nonexistant here so the RB isn't a bad 2nd. )I was looking for something with a T3 .63 A/R turbine so I could retain some semblance of a proper powerband. Or were you saying a T3/T04R?

well on a basically stock RB20 that looks perfect. You have to take into account your ultimate power goals and what you intend to do with the car. Myself I have an eye towards top speed and rolling confrontations so response is not a big issue for me. I have a T so I only have RWD so the lag will help keep me from smoking the tires off the line, I got the launch of death. Local boys are dog *** slow at the intersection and at the tree, I never get holeshot on, I usually have superior cars for the first two gears, the big screw should be kicking in just as the other dude recovers from the crappy launch.

Here is what HKS packed in it's kits for the RB20 if it helps;T3 a/r 60 compressor, .67 exhuast, actuated bolt-on replacementTO4E a/r 42T compressor, .63 exhuast, cast iron manifold & wastegate

Well around 400 at the wheels should suffice for my ultimate goal, but I know it'll be a long road to get there. I'm not looking to drift or some such nonsense--I'm basically looking to be damn fast. I'd like to contend with moderately modded Supras eventually, the pricks.

That's a tall order, the 2JZ is a brutal motor. I'll feel better with a 600hp RB26 in my pocket stepping up to a Supra but for the average Supra with a muffler a 400hp RB in a 240 should give them something to sweat about. Try 150hp CA18DE -vs- 600hp RB26DETT, talk about david and goliath.

Tall order indeed. And after I beat a couple poorly driven "BPU" crapboxes, I'll get cocky and get absolutely embarassed from a roll by a real Supra. That's when driveability and concern for my engine go right out the window and 400hp seems like a joke. Now if you'll pardon me, I must get back to selling cocaine so I can fund this awful pipedream.

Wow. Nice clutter. Looks like my buddy's basement He ended up renting a garage for his car stuff. After a few months of paying rent it inspired him to finish up the cars he was working on.

As far as a local fertility clinic. try http://www.Mr1der.com. I'm told it's a "hands on" fertility clinic (ahem) that makes housecalls.

I have two shelfs just like the ones on the left filled with parts/tools. Then next to the shelves I have my silvia hood and a few sets of rims. In my attic above my garage I have a few more sets of rims. In my garage I have my race seat, momo steering wheel, few guages, rest of silva front conversion and lots of little misc stuff. Most of the parts will going on this winter/spring. I will also have alot of parts that will be coming off. I may need to clean up soon too.
