Anybody have problems with their feul pump

My wife was having issue this past Sunday and Monday starting our V. She took it in to the dealer and did a diagnostics on it and found that the fuel pump is or has failed. I'm currently driving a rental xterra. Yesterday the dealership said that the pump was on back order and they are still waiting. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had any fuel pump issues?

Not sure. Just had my V since Saturday (!) and had to take it in this PM because the engine has been turning on startup, but not firing. Is that a fuel line prob. or an ignition prob.?

Parts for the Versa being on backorder is very common. I called my dealer about the air bag wiring harness recall and they ordered the part over 2 weeks ago no and still nothing. It's an annoying, but just be happy it's all free (and pray that part supply is better when these start coming off warranty).

Talked to the service manager this afternoon. Nobody could detect an ignition prob. but they did discover a "pressure drop" in the fuel line (whatever that is) and have ordered a part (don't think it's a whole new fuel pump though) from Chicago that they think will get here tomorrow.

Hope so. So far they've had it longer than I have.

A pressure "drop" could be anything. Pump, filter, regulator, dampener... even injectors.

Let us know what gets replaced and if it helps.

Guy just called me back. It is the fuel pump, and he said the part will arrive sometime between tomorrow morning and next month.

I'm going to get it back in an hour or so and they'll call me when the pump comes in.

Yep. Absolutely is--I just noticed that too.

Funny, the service manager was acting like there was no problem and the whole thing was a mystery to them. Said they never got any "TSB"'s (technical service bulletins) about it but they would look at the fuel pump. Bingo!

Are they trying to keep the problem a secret?? Sounds like it's not working too well.

HA! yeap, I have the same problem too fellas. I notice my car doesn't start after the first turn. I have to try it more than a few times. Only happens when my car is down hill tho?? Anyone else?
