Anybody have a trailer hitch on their 240sx?

i just have to say that there's two ways of telling if the person in front of you is a bad driver 1) if it's a car with a trailer hitch and 2) has any kind of ribbon stickers (you know the ones: Fight Breast Cancer, Support our Troops, Save the Bears, etc..) or flags attached to it (the ones that people put on their passenger/driver windows and fly in the wind).

If I see a vehicle with either of those two markings, I try to pass 'em or get out of their way.

even though the ka is a truck engine, as a former employee of U-haul i must advise you NOT to attach a trailer hitch to your car. i assume youre not going to be towing anything, but you want to put a bike rack that attaches to your hitch... DONT. the retards that work at u haul installing hitches could care less if they cut a frame rail to the point where its hanging by a thread of metal to install it. or they drop the bolts in your car and dont remove them, youll have a rattle forever. just suck it up and use a different vehicle. i run a 240 and an old-*** 4x4 and im only 21 and not making any money.

i assume youre not going to be towing anything, but you want to put a bike rack that attaches to your hitch...

I'd like to get a small trailer to haul autoX tires etc. I saw some Miata guys with basically a "question mark" shaped bar that held a set of tires that mounted on a trailer hitch that might be a good option too.

i can suggest you look into doing it yourself or paying a real pro to do it.

for reference my truck cost me less than $500, has been running great for over a year, and hauls my car AND parts just great...

i think im gonna put a small hitch on my car for a bike rack and when i buy my old school stand up jet ski! I would install it myself though..

i have a hitch on my s13 but it came on there. its really not all that bad as far as looks since it tucks up under the bumper nicely when the ball isnt on it.

seriously if you autox you will be amazed at how much easier it is to take you tires and box and leave them on the trailer as opposed to packing it all into the hatch or worse the trunk.

i used to try to get my 16" w/ 225 hoosiers, jack, cooler, and large plastic tote box all into the hatch of my s13 and it was murder. ill never do it again.

I used to carry 2 street slicks, jack, cooler, tool box, and spare in my hatch before i pulled the motor. I don't have a backseat though and it was tight but it all fit fine .
