Anybody have a picture of an Autometer OIL TEMP Sender, especially the one that comes with the Z Series Oil Temp Gauge? Or if you don't have a camera, can you tell me if the probe of the sender is much skinnier than the 1/8 NPT threads on the sender itself?

In case you were wondering why I need this info, it's because I need to know if Autometer OIL TEMP senders fit into the Autometer 1/8 NPT to 1/8 BSPT adapter (Part#2269).....the adapter has a skinny hole right in the middle

Thanks in advance!

this stinks, why doesn't anybody make a single piece 1/8 NPT to 1/8 BSPT adaptor that fits temp senders....

Keep the adaptor, and buy the Autometer temperature extension fitting.

Hmm, could you elaborate please? I was searching through Autometer's extension adaptors, and I couldn't find anything for 1/8 NPT:

You'd need more adaptors evidently.

Oh well, I'd just take off the lower steel pan and have a bung welded in

it's quite cumbersome to go through a few fittings just to get a sender to fit inside a BSPT port.....but i guess that's the only other route to take instead of buying excessively expensive japanese gauges+senders

hey nismo, don't u work with SPL? if i may suggest an idea, you guys could custom make a 1/8 NPT to 1/8 BSPT adaptor that is compatible with thick probed senders e.g. autometer and vdo temp senders

I used to work at SPL, that sounds like a good idea but not one that we are capable of producing at the moment. We have a backlog of other things.
