i know there is one guy on here, but he only has one post so i doubt he'll see this. what are the roads like down there? i assume they are in good shape, but are they fun to drive or just straight, flat, and boring like toledo?

hey man I broke down in sierra blanca texas, it is about 40 miles west of there, but from what i saw while trying to get the repoed car fixed is that it is a retirement community and that texas has some weird inspection laws. they don't run emission test but do a 25 point visual inspection of your car where if even a single thing like a headlight is out you will fail. i also believe that they turn down cars with aftermarkwt exhaust and stuff like that. i could not tell you about the roads because i was driving a new expedition but i will say that the cost of living is pretty cheap there.

Abilene... ekkk. At least you got Dallas to your right. There is no emission test but there is the visual inspection test. It probably wont be hard to find a place that will let you go if you have a modified engine system. Some are pricks though. A buddy of mine needed to refill his power steering fluid so that he could pass. Exhaust is exhaust, short of it having a hole in it. There arent any tests down against the loudness of it. Nor should he be driving in a fashion to see how loud it is.

great, all i want is to be living with a bunch of old people. at least i will work with a lot of people my age. i will probably keep my car registered in ohio if the laws are goofy like that. all we have is an emissions test every 2 years and it will be easy for me to get out of.

They do emmissons tests in select cities. Like I know they do it in the major cities like Dallas, Ft. Worth, so on and so forth. But i'm not sure about the smaller cities.
