I'm just curious as to if a wider front tire can fit under the fender on and M56 sport model. If you have fit a 295 or even at 305 series tire without it poking out of the fender, could you share your tire brand and wheel set up (width and offset)? Thanks in advance.

305 in the front? I doubt that'll ever happen (the wheel has to turn, a 305 would rub like crazy). Did you mean the rear?

Seems a bit wide for a front tire. Below is a comparison chart that you can use. Enter the OEM tire, wheel size, and OEM off-set in the left column. Then enter the tire and wheel size changes you intend to make in the right column. The chart will tell you the resulting change in suspension and fender clearance. You can adjust the off-set on the right until you find a new combo of tire and wheel that will likely fit.
As for what size wheel will accommodate a 305 tire safely, I reckon you will need 20 X 10.5 inch wheels but I'm not sure. It is also important to consider the stress placed on the stock suspension, steering, etc as it could cause parts to fail earlier than the OEM setup.

Since you asked, I went with 19 X 8.5 +40 wheels and Hankook Ventus S1noble2 tires size 255/19/40. My service guy at Infiniti told me my 09 M35 was designed for 18 or 19 inch wheels and anything larger will lessen the life of suspension and steering components. However, the newest generation comes from the factory with 20s as an option so no need to worry as clearly they were designed to accommodate them.

Thanks for the info. Those websites are a great resource. Unfortunately when it tells me how much it moves the wheel to the inside, I never know where the limit is. Unless other users have experimented with certain tire widths and offsets that can give me a feel for the limitations of the wheel well I'll be completely guessing.

I think I'm done crunching numbers. If a 10" wide wheel with a 38 offset works with 275's, I won't risk going to 295's. I'll just use some giant 275's like the 11.2" wide Yokohamas and get a little more width that way. Anybody running 275's up front know what their overall tire widths are?

Sorry to bug you M tire gurus yet again. Just a bump to see if anybody is running a tire that has an overall width wider than 11". Some 275's run way narrow and others way wide. Just curious what the actual widest rubber is that anybody has snuck under the from fenders (mine will be on an M56 Sport if that makes a difference).

Got around to measuring mine: none of my 275s are more than 11" wide. For my 275/35s the Michelin Pilot A/S Plus is about 10.75", the Dunlop SP Maxx GT is about 10.5" wide. I happen to have Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 285/35 20 so I measured them as well, they are 11.25" wide.
