Anybody ever work with an automatic clutch???

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I've never had any experience with an automatic clutch, or torque converter, and I don't see how it comes off of the engine. I guess you could say I'm not an auto kind of guy. So, if you know how to do this, it would be helpful if you can help me out a little. I just need it off so i can install the new manual clutch. oh, I'm working with a bluebird sr20.

thanks!

There are four bolts that hold the torque converter on. In order to take them off, you must use the inspection window on the bottom side of the transmission and motor if they are still attached, should be a black plastic piece with two small bolts covering the hole. Once you gain access to the hole, you will then have access to the bolts holding on the converter. You will have to turn the crank on the motor to spin the converter around so you can undue each bolt one at a time. Be careful once you get the bolts out of the converter, it will be full of transmission fluid.

Ok, the engine is sitting in my garage with the transmission removed. I'll have to check that out when I get home, I'm in school right now I should be able to figure that out. thanks for the input
