http://waterpoweredcar.com/hydrobooster.html

the link is for a hydrogen booster, supposed to give you some more power and mpg. anybody ever try something like this? or maybe water vapor injection? i was thinking about making a hydrogen cell to run the car just on water but couldn't find any kind of info on whether it gives you more/less power - i like my ponies and don't want to give them up just for savings on gas.

Some how I just don't trust an Omni filter with metal bars in it attached to my engine.

what it does is makes hydrogen gas, hydrogen burns great so it should increase the mpg and hp...just don't know if you'd have to program the computer for leaner fuel mixture? i was thinking that it would be even possible to put a big enough cell in the car to make it run just on H. but i don't know how that would influence engine performance...so maybe someone out there tried or looked into something like that?

It might improve emissions, but I don't see it helping power any.

emissions... ...in montana they don't check it and it's street and state legal to run without a cat. i just want hp and maybe a few miles/gal extra. maybe i'll be the first one to charge my mixture with H and if i don't blow up i'll post if it works and what it improves - hopefuly

Yeah, definitely let us know how it goes if you decide to try it.

I've seen it tried and failed miserably on Mythbusters, ending with the Engine catching on fire. I wouldn't say this is something that'd go in easily and run better out of the box.

If you have enough time to spend tinkering I think it may work, the ideas are sound behind it, But I wouldn't want to risk ruining my engine. Our engines are designed to run off Gasoline, a liquid, not Hydrogen Gas. The fuel systems not designed for transporting this gas, nor is the engine designed to contain it.

If you're up for it I'd love to see someone try it with pictures, Coming from a chemical engineering field I'm not comfortable with a "hydrogen bomb" as they state it under my hood. You stall the engine then try refiring and I wouldn't feel too safe.

see i was thinking about that too...and found out that it's not straight gas that goes in but is carried in through the throttle body by water vapor, they call the mix HHO so it should be safe - technicaly.
