anybody else using forza as an educational tool?

Nissan dominates the drift scene - Always has, always will.

ive actually been drifting in forza for a while, but now i actually sett up a s14 like mine in the game. im making notes on my mistakes at the track and coming back and trying the same things in forza, like throttle control, entry angle, weight shift. its actually really interesting to figure out how to do things mentally and go back to the track and try them out. at least for beginner drifters... of course real practice is the only way to get good. but i find myself trying things on the track that i do in the video game...and it does help for a newb to drifting

bash all you want... it helps me see how a car reacts at full lock and other situations... forza factors in weight shift, traction, everything...i mean learning to drift in need for speed, then i would think i was crazy... every game ive played is worthless, you need to play forza to understand i guess... it helps me decide what to do in my car though when im on the track...

you can mentaly prepare for anything and when it goes down,it is not the same. That my friend is life

kamin sir I'd just like to point out that you may be the most realistic person when it comes to advise for drifting, and the not sugar coating helps people learn faster +1

whatever, i impoved a **** load and i havent really drifted in over a month.... like no comparison... i dont know why..... this is my conclusion... but i read kamin's advice too as well as other users... it helps, but mental prep helps too. thats all im saying... maybe some of that mental prep is from thie video game. forza is all i use my xbox for... for fun and maybe it helps me decide what to do at the track

Get a friend with a foam bat.. Now make him hit you behind the head when you spin out/hit wall this will simulate the real experience.

Just go to events, your in PA you should check out englishtown, NJ for events..they also host a yearly all day drift clinic.

forza is a sick *** game...whens forza 2 come out?...and i think forza helps on figuring out entrance angles and stuff like that for turns and autocross but it cant help that much cuz the limits of your real car are different...and knowing the limits on your car is all in the feel u get when ur behind the wheel...i dont think a video game has the same effect

starkos14, you seem like a decent dude and what not, but c'mon man. I put this up there with the kids who learn how to drift from playing Initial D all night long. The only thing that it might help is understanding what adjustments like spring rates, and crap like that will affect your car. It will change the way the car drives (unrealistically) but still will never compare to real life. And also, Grand Turismo destroys Forza.
