I have a 2004 5AT G35 Coupe.

Recently the middle button in the row of three buttons for seat adjustment has died. MY gut tells me that I'm simply SOL (there is no way I'm buying an entirely new seat to fix a simple dead switch). Or does anybody know if this is a relatively inexpensive (and ideally easy) fix?

As always, thanks in advance.

It could very easily just be a dead switch or worse case, a motor.

If you look at the parts mircofiche, seats are not typically sold as a unit. They are usually sold as individual components. As best I can find, it looks like the switch assembly is about $116 or so from an online retailer. The illustration isn't too clear though, so it's hard to say for sure.

I would use the FSM and try and diagnose if it is the switch or the motor. Either way, you should be able to buy the part by itself...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am a bit relieved by the early prognosis.

I just had knee surgery so it'll probably have to wait until I am not gimping around any more before I have the opportunity to work on it.

I had my recline switch go out on my 05 coupe driver's seat. It was under warranty, but they said it was just a bad switch.
