the only time ive seen these taillights was on this one super nice obviously made-for-track 240sx that was driving around my neighborhood and in the japanese drifting videos. makes me think its hard to get them here but maybe not.

Looks like you are describing the "kouki tail". They are available from a bunch of places including some of our sponsors. On Ebay sometimes too. Expect to pay around $500.

koukis arent really unaffordable just thing about how much bmw or benz taillights would cost. people that switch from euro to japanese feel all parts are so cheap even if its high end like wheels. euro wheels can be like 5k+ while high end jdm wheels are about 2-3k

they are 180sx Kouki tailights, people often refer to the kouki 180sx as the "type-X"

yes as stated they are the late model 180SX tails (96-98)...as our S13 legacy died here in the states, it was still popular in Japan so it was kept for a few more years .. lucky bastards :p
