yea, i thought about going there after high school but then i decided not too...in hindsight i think it was a good idea..because a lot of my friends who did go to auto schools can't find a job anywhere because nobody wants to hire people who go to those schools...plus it's a rip off...i think i would go there if i just wanted to learn more about cars and whatnot but not for a job or anything.

I was supposed to go for chassis engeinerring, electrical, and high performance engines, but i was going for me not for a job haha. My buddy (one who i'm starting up the business with) went there, got some good knowlege, but struggled with some real world knowelege.

You're not going to want to hear this after spending $9k on ASM, but that degree you're getting. Yeah, it's worth precisely jack s**t to employers. I graduated from blairsville in june... went to 14 dealerships looking for a job. Out of them, only one gave me the time of day, and that's where I'm working at now with an $8/hr apprenticeship because I have no job experience.

Wyotech is not worth the money IMO

So what core are you taking? And which instructors do you have for ASM?

Oh jeez. I didn't have Earl, I had Joyce, Hank, and Paul. Does Joyce still smile, look at the ceiling, and walk away without answering when people ask her questions?

Also, assuming you're taking Automotive for your core, pray you don't get Ralph as an instructor. The man is one of the worst teachers I've ever experienced. Funny guy, but a terrible instructor.

*edit: also, their job placement... they don't really do s**t for you. They give you a list of people hiring in whatever cities you're looking at moving to, and you tell them who you want them to send your resume to (40 copies for free). I had 4 pages of businesses in Lexington. Of the 4 pages, 16 shops were not tire shops or places like Jiffy Lube. I don't know where the h**l they got their 98% placement rating from... usually placement ratings are jobs immediately after graduation... not after a month of searching. Like I said, I graduated in June. My friend Derek graduated with me, damn good tech, too. He still hasn't had luck getting a job.

I just graduated from the Sacramento class like 2 or 3 months ago. Auto tech with HPPT as my specialty. It was kinda a rip off because we didn't get to do all that I thought and was told we were gonna do. But, I did learn to do somethings that I already knew but more indef. Can't find a job tho in this job market.
