You're not going to want to hear this after spending $9k on ASM, but that degree you're getting. Yeah, it's worth precisely jack s**t to employers. I graduated from blairsville in june... went to 14 dealerships looking for a job. Out of them, only one gave me the time of day, and that's where I'm working at now with an $8/hr apprenticeship because I have no job experience.nismonieves wrote:ya it sorta is a rip off because im learning the same stuff i did in mt autotech class in highschool, 2 plusses 1. i get my associates degree at the end of september and ive only been here a month. 2. the job placement program.

Wyotech is not worth the money IMO
So what core are you taking? And which instructors do you have for ASM?

Also, assuming you're taking Automotive for your core, pray you don't get Ralph as an instructor. The man is one of the worst teachers I've ever experienced. Funny guy, but a terrible instructor.
*edit: also, their job placement... they don't really do s**t for you. They give you a list of people hiring in whatever cities you're looking at moving to, and you tell them who you want them to send your resume to (40 copies for free). I had 4 pages of businesses in Lexington. Of the 4 pages, 16 shops were not tire shops or places like Jiffy Lube. I don't know where the h**l they got their 98% placement rating from... usually placement ratings are jobs immediately after graduation... not after a month of searching. Like I said, I graduated in June. My friend Derek graduated with me, damn good tech, too. He still hasn't had luck getting a job.
