Any word re the new 2025 QX65?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Has anyone heard anything new about this one? The interwebs seems to indicate it was going to be a new, slick, hopefully high performance machine, but I have not found any recent news on it.

I'm hoping it's still in the works, and would love for it to be a real performer - say, have the engine and its tune from the new QX80 in it, or something similar - that would be schweet!

Judging by the pics, it looks to me like it's going to be on the same or similar platform as the new Murano. Those are basically an Ariya with a gas engine, KR20 2L engine from the turbo Altima coupled with the 9-speed transmission from the R53 Pathfinder. I'd imagine the Infiniti rendition would have a better powerplant, there's room for that in the Murano framework.

I'll bet you're right and was kinda thinking along the same lines. I'm still hoping they get a wild hair, and offer some "500 Red Sport" or similar with a GT-Rish engine shoehorned in, to get some intense excitement generated.

2.0 turbo four banger making 268hp. Meh.

I was hoping for something more like the VR30DDTT like the Q50 or Z uses.

I think Nissan needed to do something to salvage the non-EV portions of the Ariya technology (OMG, what a $billion boondoggle) and the VC technology (fine in the KR20, but the KR15 in the Rogue is quickly ruining its reputation). So perhaps some bastardization was understandable and necessary. Like I said, there looks to be room for a better powerplant in the Murano engine room, so I'd be pretty certain the Infiniti rendition will have one.

Not gonna lie - if they had happened to make this one a very powerful flagship type vehicle, with lots of the raw power that they are easily capable of building, but of course in a refined Infiniti flavor with amazing tech, I'd consider trading in my "garage queen" weekend muscle vehicle for it. It's honestly kinda shocking to me that I feel this way, but it's just testament to how absolutely amazed I am at the QX55.
