I bought some 15x8 rims, then I put some 275/50R15 BFGoodrich drag radials on em, and they're too big, they're rubbing against the fender like crazy. I can't drive it at all. Is there any way I could temporarily lift the car (some sort of spacer or something) just for the track when I've got those rims/tires on em? Or is there a shock I can switch to that will make it higher? I don't think just firmer suspension will help it needs to be higher. Here are the pix I took at costco after I got the tires. I took them off right after because it was undrivable.

The easy answer is no. Go back to your stock wheels and tires. I doubt you are having any traction problems that can't be managed by better driving technique. Wheels and tires like that on a relatively stock KA driven car are total overkill. Get a set of proper offset wheels and tires for your vehicle, you can go to almost x10 wide if you are good with the offset if you are that into getting insane wide rubber on.

Sorry.. I've got an SR@14psi 3in exhaust, intercooler.. Probably around 240whp.. Maybe I should have mentioned that... I am having traction problems.

Would some larger subframe spacers do the trick? Or could I put somthing in the shocks that will not compress and will make it stay higher?

How about air shocks? I know you can lift suspension with those. How possible is that?

I'd say get some proper offset 15" wheels...something like a 15X8, with a +35 or so.

That should make 'em fit under the fenders.

Do you know where I can find some wheels like that? There seems to be tons of room inside, it's just the offset. Plus I don't want to buy really expencive rims. The ones I have on there were 40 each at summit. But if I have to pay more I will.

I like the size so if I can get them to fit i'd rather do that. Is anyone familiar with Coil Spring Spacers? Could I use those? With like a 1 or 2 inch spacer?

the 240 already rides high and u want to add 2 inches to it? dont sell the tires, sell the whole car and buy a truck. dont spend more useless money on raising a car.

I just need to temporarly lift it to fit the tires. I'm not going to spend a lot of money doing it.

It won't work. You can't raise the car. Period. Well, you could fab up brackets to move everything above the hub up two inches. That would take.......about a week of measuring, etc, a lot of machine shop work and would be a total ***** to install. So the simple, reasonable answer is no.

I think I can get my desired result with 'coil boosters' which will prevent the coil from compressing and not only lift the vehicle but also make the suspension tighter. Any opinions? Stupid idea?

No offense man, but those wheels on that car are an eyesore. I'd expect to see those on an old mercury Cougar or a hot rod truck. But not a 240sx.

Ehh.. It's for traction not for looks. I'm only going to put them on for the track or for the weekend races. Otherwise i'll have my stock rims with my 225s
