I'm the guy with the dead window regulator motor on both the driver's and passenger side windows. Is there a way I can keep my windows locked into a rolled up position as a temporary fix?

Are the windows all the way down?

You can try and pull the windows up and it should stay up.

I can pull the passenger side up, but it'll always droop back down inch by inch. The driver's side window is about the same, but droops down to halfway position a bit quicker.

Thats probblu because the 1994-1996 Q45's have thicker (Heaver) windows to keep the cabin sound free as possible.

Thats why you hear of window regulators snapping, but Nissan FAST does say that there are differ'ne regulators for differn't year Q45's.

I wonder if they made the metal wire thicker.

But I think you have to bite the bullet and replace them, 1990-1996 Q45 window motors and regulators are all the same.

Get the window all the way up and then put a strong suction cup on the bottom of the window. That should help hold it up, until you can repair the situation.

On our old E420, we purchased 2 large {4-6 inch} suction cups and pushed window into up position and placed the suction cups on inside of glass low on window so they rested on windowsill to hold glass up until we could get appointment at dealer to replace regulator. You could also remove door panel, push glass up and attach small vice grip to regulators to prevent glass from sliding down until proper repair is completed.

When my power window drive system died on the back window in my Maxima (cable came off the guides), I just used a self-tapping screw through the frame that supports the window. I screwed through the window support into the vertical track. Since I rarely used my rear windows anyway, I didn't fix it for years. When I did get around to fixing it, the screw came out and the quick fix didn't interfere with proper operation.

If you have the interior cover off of the door you can clamp the window in place with a pair of vice grips... basically just clamp them on the metal runner that holds the slider that bolts to the glass.
