Any way to access Nav features during motion?

My new M35x has a wonderful navigation system. But I am very frustrated by all of the useful features that I am prevented from using while the car is in motion.Has anyone figured out a way to bypass this absurd lockout? In many ways the lockout is inconsistent and makes the use of the system more dangerous rather than les.

I think that voice control should be helpful for you in this area; In Canada we are prohibited from using the voice control to enter destinations (only can to do "near by places") - but in the US I think the system lets you enter full address's to look up etc;

Since I dont have the ability here with my canadian serial number car, I cant say how helpful it is;

Also; there is a "dvd hack" that your car could have done to it (the hack is to allow you to play movies and some the side benefits are using the nav while driving and other features to available while car in motion), there is tons of posts on this forum on this topic; that would allow you to flip a switch that I think tricks the car's computer into thinking its in park/not moving and you can then use the controls; some side effects are that GPS stops working and a few others if I recall what i read about it correctly;

I'm not that crazy about the "hack" to get this to work; so over the years I have adapted to the cars limitation in this area, having the US's ability for voice control address destinations would be helpfull; as near by places only show me 5 choices, and they have never been what i wanted to find...

It is refreshing to see that Nissan/Infiniti Canada made equally stupid decisions on crippling Navigation function while moving. If I couldn't enter an address using voice while driving, I'd be really annoyed. Of course in the US, I can't even see the restaurants at the next exit because I can't scroll down the screen....and other equally stupid design decisions.

Yes, there is a hack and for the 06/07, it's pretty easy. The 08 hack appears to be far more complex in that you have to remove far more of the dash to get to the wires.

I tried this mod on my 06 M Sport and the wires were not in the same place as mentioned in that thread. I decided to put things back together and leave it be.
