I fairly recently got a 95 240sx with the LSD and I am trying to do any maintenance the prior owner neglected. So with that in mind, should I change the LSD fluid or is it simply unnecessary? Thanks in advance,

-Mark

So if it is a good idea then, know what fluid I'm supposed to replace it with? Thanks :)

I put Mobil 1 75w-90 gear oil in mine, seems to work ok.

Yea, I would go with Mobil probably, it's a ****ing PITA to do though, you can pour from above the diff, you have to squeeze it from a bottle upward through a tube...it sucks ***.

if its a viscous LSD I believe you have to put a silicone based additive into it so that you get the VLSD action that you desire if you don't it will be like an open Diff.

The VLSD works on the property that if 1 wheel slips the heat generated by the friction heats up the silicone which locks that wheel to the other wheel which is were you get your POSitive differntial action. (correct me if i'm wrong)

I've heard that the ford limited slip additive works best in Nissan differntials.

I have the Canadian LSD if someone could clarify for me if its a VLSD or some sort of other LSD that would be appreciated.

I got BOSS synthetic 75-140 gear oil in mine right now

I still think the best thing to do when changing your drive line fluids is to take it to a quick lube place they do it in like 10 minutes for like 30 bucks cdn which is like 12 bucks US

the silicone is an actual viscous coupler dealie inside the differential. I was told that you don't need to add the additive, but I added redline differential additive anyway for poops and grins.
