Is anyone using a GodSpeed FMIC and if so can you take some pics of the hot side piping? I ordered mine, which came with no directions and I don't have the stock intercooler. I want to see how the hot side fits. Does it go through the small intake hole under stock airbox and how much of the factory intercooler piping do I need to make it work? Thanks.

One more question, My piping didn't have a wastegate nipple on the hot side. Where did you run your wastegate nipple? I figured tapping a brass nipple into the hotside pipe wont be hard but want to make sure. Thanks again!

I have been conteplating buying the Godspeed FMIC. I tried searching for opinions on it, but didnt have any luck.

Is there a lot of people running this setup? Seems like a good deal. I'd just like to hear some user opinions on the quakity and fitment.

goalguy02, let me know how it turns out for you.

Aren't those generic FMIC kits around $250 to $300 shipped? You can get a Greddy FMIC spec M or LS for around $400.

my hotpipe didnt have a nipple on it either. i just ran the wastegate line to one of the open nipple on the throttle body.(i know its not right or good for response, but its all i can do.)

one thing i dont like about the kit is that the piping is VERY thin. i'm sure its fine, but i would've liked to see something that looked a little sturdier. i installed it this past june, and i havn't had any problems with it.

Yep. Going through ProjectSilvia and ebay I put together my FMIC for approximately $350. The internal design is literally bar and plate!

After seeing Redtop's GReddy M-spec FMIC in person, the M-Spec has a much better internal design allowing for less backpressure (better response) and has fairly beefy pipes.

Wish I would have spent the extra money for the M-spec.

Ryon has a Greddy VSPL. I have an M-spec (no internal pics) but will tell you that mine looks like it will flow much better than the one you have.

Nope, Ryon has a GReddy M-spec. Trust me, I've seen it in person and have talked to him about it when he was deciding between the M-spec and piecing together a eBay hybrid.

^ zerothread?id=308744Read the fourth post down. He got the VSPL bc he new that his HP goals would exceed the M-spec and bc of good price. I've seen inside pics of his and it's the tube/fin design, whereas my M-spec is bar/plate.

Damn, then I'm not too impressed with the VSPL then. I would have thought it'd have denser fins.

Homeslicej2, do you happen to have internal pics of the M-spec? I'm curious as to how it compares to my (more than likely) chinese unit.

I don't I forgot to take some when I had the front end off and haven't hassled with it since. I'll get some this weekend though for you. I had tried to find a thread from awhile back where a guy had asked for pics and Ryon had posted inside shots of the VSPL, I forgot to get that guy pics . I'll do it this weekend though (won't be home before dark tonight and tomorrow), shouldn't take long. I'll just undo the coupling at the lower hot pipe/endtank and snap a pic.

Awesome! That'd be great.

I still want to ditch my FMIC in favor of a V-mount setup, but the money tree doesn't seem to be blooming anytime soon.

i got the godspeed fmic kit from ebay $150 shipped. although i habe not had my car for very long, it has given no problems. my only issues were i actually ended up getting an s14 kit for my s13 sr. and then still, making it fit was no biggie(i kept it because ill be swapping out with a buddy that did the same as i did with his s14 sr)

I haven't had any issues other than not getting directions with my kit. The piping is REALLY thin, some kind of pot metal. I bought the intercooler kit with a turbo xs RFL bov for 220 shipped. Had to have the bov flange welded onto the hotpipe and because it was thin pot metal, nobody wanted to do it. Also had a small pit hole in the hod sie elbow pipe. Fixing that and welding the flange cost me an extra $60.

Is it ok to tee the wastegate off the same line as BOV? I read that the BOV should have a deicated vacuum source, but have seen many cars with tee'd lines at the bov.

I've T'd off the bov line before without any issues...

Well it seems like they're good kits minus the thin piping. I guess one can't complain much for the price. Anybody got any good pics of the core??

Sorry for the hijack.......

I just got my Greddy ls from vividracing (site sponsor) for like 379 plus shipping. Very nice quality, better than my old ebay one.

I got mine free because fatboygaradge messed up my order than wouldent refund me! I disputed it with paypal and got my $300 back and kept the fmic kit! All because they sent me a black fmic instead of pollished! I love the black fmic its soo stelth some pro drifters cant tell my car is turbo @ 10 psi !Fatboy sends crappy piping, I dont think GS makes brushed piping with 90% sharp bends! every time boost creeps to 12 psi PISSSSSS piping pops off!

I keep forgetting to bring my camera to work to upload pics Suffice to say that I will again try to remember, but that my M-spec core actually looks very similar to yours.

First you say how cool it was that you ripped off that seller by keeping both the fmic and $, then you say how much you like the one they sent you anyway...isn't that a little a**hole-ish?
