So this last hail storm, our 97 q45 i had up for sale for a while here, if you remember it, it was pretty nice. Anyways now its all smashed up body wise and front and rear windshields were smashed out. Can't find any glass for it, so my parents are just going to get my sister a new car anyway since hes going to college pretty far away they want her to have something newer and with a warranty since we can't work on it here lol.

So any ideas for it? engine and transmission are perfectly fine, everything in the car works and drives fine, its just smashed up bodywise and no windshields. should I part it out or just try selling it as a whole?'

I'd swap the engine into my 240 but it seems like wayyyyy to much work lol.

Yeah you know this thread would suck without pics, so i'll deliver :P
All we've done since is just vacuum up all the glass lol.

I am not sure...

Do you mind measuring the rear wing though, please?

That's awful :frown:. I can only imagine what kind of damage an aluminum-bodied car like a Jag would have sustained.

Sorry to hear about your car, but this is exactly why I got the HECK out of Tulsa when I had the chance to last year. Part it out. If you are, there are some parts I would want off of it.

If you part it out, I could use the ABS Actuator Relay and all the drive belt idler/tensioner pulleys...

Hey Celbii,

Sucks to see what happened to the Q. Paul told me about it today at lunch.

Just to give you guys an idea of what that car went through:

Incredible video. Bad day for the OK auto insurance providers. There must have been hundreds if not thousands of cars that weren't sheltered that day and got the same beating. How often does this sort of thing happen?

If you part it out I have several little interior parts I'd buy off you too. I think you'll do better parting it out yourself if you can sell the engine & transmission...but I need the cupholder and little lip that holds cans broke off. Nissan wants WAY too much for that part so if want to sell it the part comes out in once piece.

PM me at [email protected] if you would be willing to sell that part.

I was in Tulsa from Jan 07-Aug09 and it hailed badly every year I was there. I'm lucky that my area never received the baseball size hail as other parts of the state or my car would've been easily totaled out. A girl I used to "kick" it with there worked for State Farm and she would be flooded with claims around this time every year. Outside of car claims, they would get a lot of roof damage claims too.

If you do part it out yourself, I would like the passenger arm rest if it's in good condition and tan. Also the key fob too.

I've been in OKC for most of my life (almost 30 years), and this is the first time I've seen hail of this size and coming down that hard. We get a storm that has damaging hail in the OKC area at least once a year, but I can only recall 1 time in the past from the part of OKC that I live that has had claimable damage from a thunderstorm.

We had a storm blow through the DFW area several years ago with Softball sized hail.
It was a disaster.
Cars demolished , Animals dead all around.
Even the cast Iron man hole covers where flipped over.
And it was during the Mayfest event where hundreds of people were at a park.
Twas a mess.

Happened last year right outside of Muskogee, Ok. This guy's truck looked just like the Q.

I bought the car from celbii, and i'll be parting most everything that isn't running gear out.

i'm not going to be able to check this thread or the board in general all that much, but i try to check my email a few times a day. cuzwhat at gmail dot com

send me a pic of what you need/don't have at cuzwhat at gmail dot com. i'll see what i can come up with.

i'm keeping the motor and transmission (until i decide to build a z32 m/t conversion), and the front and rear suspension bits. i'll sell the wheels, the tires, anything of the interior (including airbags), most anything left of the exterior, and anything else i decide i don't need for the project i have planned.

for those interested, the wing is a wings west oem style, probably dealer installed. the paint is cracked, but the fiberglass seems solid.

psychoboy (much to the opposite of his SN) is quite sane and good people.

I helped him strip the glass out, door panels, back seat, and trunk carpet/trim yesterday afternoon. Great care was taken to not damage the parts upon removal.

PS - the car really took a beating! I knew from the pictures it was rough, but dang! ...all it needs is some white paint and you've got a rolling golfball. lol

I'm glad to hear that it's parts will be available to our members - hopefully they'll find a good home in the NICO family. I would recommend setting up a part-out thread in our classified section!
