Just got my safc II installed and was wondering were to go from here. Im running a Ka-e mafs with the settings at in-2 out-1 on the safc. It runs very well no more stumbling before boost and <3k rpm, its very smooth again. Once boost starts kicking in it seems as though there isn't as much power as when it was just the ka-e maf with out the safc. Im wondering if its the wrong setting on the safc or what. Also with the settings egual (in and out the same) I get no cut out when in full boost and great top end but a crappy mid range and off idle. On the other hand if its set to 2 in and 1 out I hit the fuel cut out, decent top end but an amazing mid range, better then it with stock everything, it actually moves with out getting into boost or high rpm.

My question is, how are other peoples settings running stock injectors? Has anyone actually confirmed there settings with a wideband? Also where are your low and high throttle settings at?

thanks guys -Jake

I do fine without a wideband. Don't get me wrong, if I had the coin I would get one. If you start out rich and make slow sane adjustments to peak power you should be fine. It couldn't hurt to do your setting as close as you safely can and then confirm final tweaks on a wideband-equipped dyno.

speaking of wideband systems, which is the best bang for the buck?

I bought a zeitronix because I'm rolling my own ROMS, it's great because it can log many other useful things for tuning..

Well I have around an $850-900 bonus at work coming up and after I make misc. payments on stuff I should have around $500 left over. I was thinking about getting the Horsham Developments stage 3 chip, along with the z32 afm and 444 injectors. But for the $500 I could buy a wideband 02, e-bay chip, and keep the safc II to do fine tuning with.

I wish someone on here could burn chips that are proven with a common set of mods.... like a t25g or t28 with n60 or n62 afm, stock or 460 injectors and the walbro pump. They would sell very well, especially if you could provide a dyno with a/f ratio. People over in europe would also be part of the market.

Burned chips are ancient, time to move on. Unless you are doing it yourself it is to much of a PITA when you can easily get systems that can be tweaked in real time these days.

yeah, a resident nico enthusiast doing chips with a good tune, would sell. I suppose one can hit 'em up with a PM once they have a sucessful tune up & running. For the most popular combo; N60, 450cc, T28.... or N62, 750s, t3/t4 would be next, I reckon. Actually... check out the dyno thread recent post. 1SlowCA18DET seems to have success with the latter - A/F ratios look good for that setup.

I'm starting to wonder how involved this romulator/editor is. Obviously worth looking into as many nissan folks have made rather impressive reliable power using it... and tuning is always an asset. Probably not expensive either.

Here is a ca18 laying down impressive power on a GT28, stock ecu with (NDstage1 chip for 8200rpm rev limit), tuned via Emanage blue.http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=246845
