Any tracks that I can race my car in the Southern California area?

All over the world, Nissan products are involved in road racing, track days, time attack and autocross.

Hi, does anyone know of any tracks that I can race(not necessarily with other people on the track or really competitively) my car(I'll even settle for a drag strip). Membership fee or one time fee is stand-able as long as it isn't outrageous. Also, any clubs in the Southern California area that I could join that would offer opportunities to race my car?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome. You've got plenty of choices, but it really depends on what you want to do.

Below is a link for many race tracks all over the country, all types.

If your interest is drag racing, we have an entire forum devoted to it.

If you're interest is Autocross or HPDE, check out the "stuck" thread at the top here. It has several links and is very informative. NICO has plenty of autocrossers and road racers who I'm sure would be happy to answer any any specific questions you might have about getting started.

Are all the tracks shown at http://chasinracin.com/track-locator/byname.shtml open for anyone to race on? It seems that a lot of them are where professional(televised) races are held.

If you're talking about road race courses, the answer is no, you won't be able to simply take your car there and race. That's why HPDE is probably the best first step for you. It puts you and your car onto the track with no special modifications, and very little money, and you learn not only the track itself, but the rules of driving on a track, and most importantly, how to control your car.

Depending on the race track, it's usually not a problem hitting triple digit speeds. HPDE's are a lot of fun. I do them several times per year.

Not in SoCal, but there's a great event for you in January in Vegas:

There are plenty of tracks in SoCal that hold HPDEs.California Speedway, Willows Springs (3 tracks there), Buttonwillow, and a short drive tp Nevada will get you to Spring Mountain (awesome track).

Check out Redline Track Events and Speed Ventures. Both run several track days at all the mentioned tracks year-round.

And definitely check out regional auto-x events.
